That's right: the E3 Digital Event for Nintendo will only be 30 minutes. Does this bode well for Nintendo E3 2017...? Well, let's not panic just yet.

They better crank up the pace then, compared to past Directs.

Makes you wonder how much content they'll have.

First - It's CALLED Nintendo Spotlight
Second - It going to be the same as they did with the previous Direct. Speed Through the Headlines.

Here the what happened in that direct.

Nintendo Spotlight meaning games that aren't the main focus aren't going to get a lot of time spent on. They can leave that to Nintendo Treehouse. Plus they have ARMS, Splatoon 2 and Pokken Tournament Competition going on later.

Nintendo is going to spend the most time on Super Mario Odyssey and less time on everything else. And it's Switch only. That is the reason why all the 3DS titles are being confirmed now.

5 min Mario, 5 min nindies, 2 min xenoblade 2, 2 min FE, 5 min Rabbids x Mario, 2 min Zelda DLC, 2 min VC, 2 min FIFA, 2 min NBA 2k, 1 min Skyrim features,

That is all I can really think of off the top of my head. There is room for a couple surprises, though I am going with no hope at this point personally because I can not relate with Nintendo and any decisions they make. Hopefully alot of big details are reserved for the floor since there is no time during the Direct.

"Players can now hide system apps, pin favorites to the list, and reduce the number of tiles displayed. This update is part of our ongoing effort to make Home more personal, flexible, and responsive to feedback."

This is welcomed, i like a less cluttered home screen.

Wow… Nintendo is champ in Japan, but the speed of sale is remarkable.

Proves that console gaming isn’t dead yet not by a long shot.

gold_drake2d ago

not surprised, the switch is relatively cheap in japan.

I guess the resistance against always online and digital only consoles is BS. The people have voted with their wallets.

NotoriousWhiz2d ago

What are you talking about? Switch 2 is neither always online nor digital only.

DivineHand1252d ago

Nintendo can literally block your Switch 2 console from accessing their online services at any time. When that happens, it becomes a brick. You won't even be able to play those games that use game key cards that are not installed on the console. Some users who have been blocked tried factory resetting their system, and when they tried to boot it up with a new account, they are stuck.

Speaking of game key cards, the majority of third party publishers have opted to use those instead of loading their full game on those cartridges. Imagine having a library of game key card games and going on a long trip but not being able to play a particular game because you need to connect to Nintendo servers to download the game first. It is not like the old days where you just plug in and play.

Game key cards make sense for large games like GTA, Red Dead, or COD, but I don't see why publishers who have games with sizes less than 32 GB need to use that option.

If you try to mod your system it could get banned from online play like every single system since the ps3 and xbox
