Man I usually never buy a game if it not on sale.

Tetsujin2521d ago (Edited 2521d ago )

I've started waiting on sales, and it's amazing how much I saved as opposed to being "the first wave" of customers. On the flip side, the early adopters do help in catching bugs/glitches. Tekken 7 and the new Sonic Mania are the last games I'm buying day one at full price.

Amazon at times sell new releases at $48~ as it is, so in theory I haven't paid $60 for a new release in a long time.

However, as of late I have had way more fun with smaller budget (and indie) games since I don't have to break the bank for an experience I can get somewhere else for 1/3 of the price.

Pretty much every new title will be at the 50% off mark within 6 months. Really annoyed at myself for holding out on re7 for quite a while only to see a sale the week after I pulled the trigger at 50 percent off.

I used to buy every game I wanted when it released. Now, I do that rarely with games I have waited for like Persona 5. Otherwise, sales! But it's not so much because I chose to do it this way, as much as I simply cannot keep up anymore! Then we blame them for releasing finished content as dlc, when much of it is worked on while waiting for the new release date.

And more than anything, this is why certain games have seen falling sales numbers despite being great games!

No one ever talks about this aspect of delays, bit they've become more prevalent as competition has increased. Releasing at the right time has become paramount to maximizing profitability. I honestly believe that many games are delayed for this reason alone!

Same here, and some of the games I've spent most of my time on are totally free e.g. Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead. Averages don't apply to individuals I guess!

Ehhh..... Not since 2012...... I mean the only games I would pay 60$ for would be Witcher 3, Bloodborne, Nier Automata and Persona 5, but then again, it'll vary from person to person

If it's a rockstar game all I need to see is the announcement and I'll pay the asking price day 1 without seeing a trailer.

But if it's a ubi or ea game it will be on sale in 3 months

Quick answer...Sometimes yes and sometimes no! It depends upon the quality and uniqueness of the game, as well as a myriad of other factors!
