Why the Modern Day Plot is Vital to Assassin's Creed

Fans attribute Assassin's Creed's problems to a number of key issues. There were certainly some frustrating moments plus at times, some glaring technical issues. And a lot of blame is placed on the series' modern day components.

But the modern day plot in Assassin's Creed is exactly what makes the series so fantastic.

I cant be arsed to read another article about ac but the response to the headline is obvious: Without the modern day element its just a stealth game. It has to have the modern day element to be part of ac on my opinion. I think they've strayed a bit in the last few games for that reason.

I don't know about him being an egomaniac, but I don't know how he got to be this visible figure. His track record is spotty at best.

Lovely to be confident in your own product but AC and every revent Ubisoft game has paled in comparison to such as Horizon. They're just large, but vapid slabs of meaningless content with a load of busywork. Good luck to them and I hope they prove me wrong, but I can't see the next AC being anything but the same.

EddieNX 3022d ago

AC4 was fantastic. But Zelda absolutely bitch slapped everything Ubisoft stands for, so did Horizon as well lol I haven't played that yet though.

Curious how the next one will turn out, competition is pretty fierce

KingKionic 3022d ago

"We welcome more good games, and whenever we will release, we will be ready for the competition, so in a nutshell… BRING IT ON"

Thats what i like to here.

Asassins creed isnt no new kid on the block it just need extra dev time. Cant wait for the reveal.

Alexious3022d ago

There have definitely been some great Assassin's Creed games, they just need more development time in between releases. At least two years.

ziggurcat3021d ago

I would argue for a 3-5 year release schedule. Give it time to be done properly.

_-EDMIX-_3021d ago

Well its been more then that as AC is made by like 3 or 4 different teams.

AC unity was in development since 2010. Their issue is simply that they need to put those other teams to just do something else. We don't need all these AC titles like clock work. Not when they are launching with issues like AC Unity too.

So I'd argue their development time is correct, but they don't need all those teams making AC titles over and over and over and over etc. They need to start by having 1 team make AC.

I think its due time they start doing this, make every AC a good AC. We don't need the community saying stuff like "this is the bad one, next year is the good one" lol

_-EDMIX-_3021d ago

Agreed. I want them to go back to the drawing board and lower the volume. For gods sake, that is what killed Splinter Cell.

I remember we would always be like um.."the good Splinter Cell" lol

Take the best team that makes AC....have them make AC. I don't want to here anymore of this crap of like 16 teams working on a AC game lol Its very clear that some teams that worked on AC jacked that game series UP!

I only played a bit of AC1 and really didn't like it, but loved what I saw from ACII. Its a series I "might" get into if I have the influx of free time to burn on trying new things out.

KaiPow3022d ago

If there's one thing I hope Ubisoft learns from Zelda, it's that you don't need an absurd number of towers to fill out your open world.

LucasRuinedChildhood3022d ago

The towers were always really fun in AC though since it was heavily focused on climbing. They just felt dumb in games like The Crew.

Speak_da_Truth3022d ago

It can also learn from Horizon by not only making less towers like Zelda(Horizon has only about 7) but make them interesting like the Tallnecks in Horizon. It's a puzzlee just to find the right place to jump on them. Not only that but there are fierce machines such as the Sawtooth guarding the Tallnecks so you have to figure your way to climb on them.

Waiting for the Assassin's Creed Empire reveal at E3

Alexious3022d ago

I'd prefer a Roman setting to Egypt, but I'll still take it.

Gregard3021d ago

We already had rome though. Maybe not during roman empire, but still. I would much prefer to see a feudal japan assassin's creed game!
