Spyro will lead a wave of PlayStation 1 Classics as revealed at upcoming E3 2017. Medievil, Ape Escape and The Legend of Dragoon to follow on its tail.
Isn't Crash already doing that? And I'd love a Spyro game similar to the originals cause I am not a fan of Skylanders
The article is talking about a second wave. If we take last year's announced games Crash trilogy, Parappa The rapper, Patapon, Locorocco and Wipeout Omega Collection as a first wave. Then, Sony could plausibly announce another round of PS Classics this E3.
Well there are more remakes like Resident Evil 1 and 2 is in the works. Also everyone keeps forgetting about the asesome remake that is Oddworld New N Tasty. Personally, and that is just me, I would like to see these titles remade one day: Tomb Raider 1-3 (anniversary doesn't count), Nightmare Creatures 1-2, Croc 1-2, Gex EtG and DCG, Nuclear Strike, NFS3, Medievil 1-2, Deathtrap Dungeon. I know there isn't much chance for these but I can dream...
Ehhhh Ratchet did it already before that. Even though Ratchet sucks.
@AnubisG AHHHHHHHHHH GEX
Hopefully that is what Vicarious Visions is doing next. :)
@ cocoa Did not Reboot R&C did that? lead a New Wave of remastering or Rebooting?.....
If legend of Dragoon comes I will cry
Dude....don't even get me started.
It'd be so cool. Imagine The Legend of Dragoon remastered/remade from the ground up with trophies and other content. That'd be so awesome, I'd take that over just buying the old version of the game. We better support these games as fans if we want Sony to ever make further sequels. They are probably testing the waters.
I'd settle for an HD version with an improved translation.
Didn't Parappa the Rapper already do that
Somehow I completely overlooked the possibly of the old Spyro games getting remakes now that the old Crash games are. Man I hope this happens.
I hope Sony show off Spyro PS1 trilogy remake at E3. I'll flip out
I also predict that It's happening hands down. What else could Vicarious Visions do at this point?
"...Crash Bandicoot trilogy. That trilogy was actually developed by Naughty Dog back in the PS1 days. Fan reaction to the news was overwhelmingly positive and I'm sure that Sony took note." Can I just point something out here quickly? When the news officially was delivered by Layden on that stage last E3, I remember many people being UNHAPPY about the news because it wasn't a new Crash game. It wasn't overwhelmingly positive IMO. I'm sure they have warmed up to it immensely since then.
Very picky but 100% true.
While true, the amount of pre-orders is not bad at all. The Crash Bandicoot franchise was dying and might get new life if these remasters sell. Keep in mind that tons of PlayStation fans have been asking for PS1 emulation. PS1 emulation will not bring new gamers to these franchises the same way that a remaster with modern day graphics can. It's definitely better than nothing and a good start or at least a last chance for Sony to assess some of the old IPs that were huge in the past and their chances of being economically viable today.
Most people were unhappy cause they showed off crash in skylanders and people thought crash remake would look like that
I want a VR Jumping Flash reboot!
That would actually be pretty neat. Platforming in VR, huh? Didn't think of that before.
There is a game in Playroom VR called Robot Rescue, its essentially Mario 64 in VR, but only one level. It's a blast! There really needs to be more Platform games in VR.
My very first PlayStation game. Please God let it happen
I hope it <3 i want medievil, tomba, gex and croc remaked or sequeled too
