I'd like to add an honorable mention and that is 90's Arcade Racer from Pelkan13.

https://www.kickstarter.com...

What started out to be an ambitious homage to Sega for the Wiiu and PC turned into a no show for PC and Wiiu as well as Ps4 or XB1 for that matter. Despite him saying that it was still coming... it's been way to long and no updates. It's initial estimated release was November of 2013.

He has since turned his attention to a streets of rage clone called The Takeover which is also still not out yet.

I have an Ouya, bought it for 20 bucks at a store. Never plugged it into the TV. Somehow, the controller's buttons started to fall off even though they have never been used.

MatrixxGT2525d ago

I remember years ago people one here actually argued about how Ouya was going to be the console to kill off the rest. And how mobile technology would offer games better and cheaper than the other guys.

Wonder where those people went...

Blank2525d ago

Well they are now in mobile subbreddits or pondering how much to spend on IAP's. They know to avoid the clowning they will get coming here with that noise.

MunchMiller002525d ago

They're sitting in their corner quietly, waiting for all the VR folks to join them soon.

Neonridr2526d ago

god.. Areal. I remember that debacle on Kickstarter.

Wouldn't it have been quicker and easier to list Kickstarter successes?

Disruptor PS1, a pre Goldeneye console FPS from 1996 (with Command and Conquer type FMV cutscenes) and the first game by a pre Spyro Insomniac Studios directed by Mark Cerny. A good game for its time, and pre Bioshock use of telekinesis type powers. A game sadly almost completely lost to time

PrimeVinister16d ago

I have never even heard of it, so that must be a deep cut. Sounds really interesting and I might dig it out :-)

PrimeVinister16d ago

@Cacabunga A classic, no doubt. But, fondly remembered by many.

Cacabunga16d ago

First one was so good but second one on another level!!!
Still hoping to see a next gen version..

PrimeVinister16d ago

@Cacabunga Yeah, I preferred II for the real-timier combat. I would love to see both remade or remastered.

We need to bring back the golden era of ps1 & ps2 .
We need to see quality games developed with alot of passion to make gamers satisfied .
We need to benefit from new AI technology to bring something new to games something like " nemesis systems " that used in shadow of morder and upgrade it to next level

The economics of games has changed a lot since the PS1 and PS2. As much as I would love a return to those days, it's not not at all likely.
