I don't mind games that lack violence, my issue with walking simulators is the lack of interactivity which destroys the whole purpose of gaming. Perfect example of this is Gone Home for the fact that it lack interactivity. Sure the gamer walks around and picks stuff up and the story is great. If the game had allowed the gamer to drink wine, break stuff up, throw stuff or write on the walls, etc. As a way to allow gamers express themselves on how they feel in regards to the story. That right there would of made Gone Home a masterpiece. The point of gaming is not about shooting bad guys but able to experience a digital fantasy and have fulll control of it through gameplay. Look I prefer heavy rain mechanics over lack of mechanics. Reducing games to just walking and looking is not the future of gaming. Games should strive to be more interactive
