PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U Europe Lifetime Sales – March 2017 Update

Looking at the total sales of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U in Europe in March 2017 shows how much the PlayStation 4 has dominated in the region. It has sold two times more units than the Xbox One and Wii U combined.

The PlayStation 4 has sold 22.66 million units lifetime in Europe, the Xbox One 7.81 million units, and the Wii U 3.50 million units.

Taking a look at the marketshare, the PlayStation 4 tops the other two platforms combined. The PlayStation 4 has 67 percent market share, the Xbox One sits at 23 percent, and the Wii U 10 percent.

In Spain it used to be 7 to 1... but now it seems to be 9 PS4 to 1.4 Xbox One. Rest of Europe seems to be in the 3:1 ratio.

It's getting pretty bad in Europe. If Microsoft wants to expand the Xbox brand they really need to convince Europeans to buy the system.

Asia is a lost cause for them.

Price is the poblem in Europe, I think. Many friends were buying Xbox 360 when it was far cheaper than PS3. Now, Xbox One only has been cheaper than PS4 on special sales and near times. Also, it is really difficult to buy Xbox One games in Spain and near to impossible to buy them on special editions. BTW, games are more expensive on Xbox One than PS4. Money, really, seems to have been Xbox One problem in Spain. I can't speak about other european countries, but retail channel seems to be in a similar situation. No real deals, no real menace to PS4 reignant first position.
Maybe if Scorpio is cheaper (it already seems to gona be better) than PS4 Pro and many games come with it, it will have a chance in Europe. But maybe this Xbox One Scorpio is only a short step before Next Real Xbox Generation. The same as PS4 Pro has been for PlayStation, as Sony speakers told one year ago.
