Looks like Switch is gonna be the best selling console again next month I see

EddieNX 2960d ago

I think il be putting my arms into my pockets for this one. It oozes Nintendo charm. I give it a 9 before its even out 😆

Erik73572960d ago

Wont be surprised if this gets high ratings and same for spatoon 2. Splatoon 2 looks really interesting with its art style.

Then we have e3, im expecting a HD version of sun/moon for Switch, Metroid reveal, and Beyond good and Evil 2 reveal.

EddieNX 2960d ago (Edited 2960d ago )

They both look great, the kind of games no one else can make except Nintendo. And that would be the best e3 ever with Mario, Xenoblade 2 etc...

Tripl3seis2960d ago

I guess I'm gonna have to get a switch before the fall hits fucking Nintendo good job now announce a metroid game and please lol.

All game companies developing fighters now take note! Arms have free content after launch. Yes more fighters over the 10 fighter roster! More stages! More Arm items all for free! I am talking to you Capcom with the disaster that is Street Fighter 5, and most likely Marvel VS Capcom Infinite! I am talking to you Netherrealms that gave us a great, but overprice Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition! It is embarrassing that you have to pay for 9 characters, including Darkseid if you didn't preorder the game. Sure you get a comic book, but you pay $5 dollars per character. Man what a joke!

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory2960d ago

Yes.
Developers need to either provide free updates with characters if the roster for their game is small or offer over 30 characters. 50 if possible. Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS only charge because it had 52 character from the start.

deafdani2960d ago

To be fair, there's a big difference between a game franchise that's had more than a decade to build up their character roster, and a brand new fighting game IP. In the former, game balance and character movesets are less of an issue than in the latter.

This is why new fighting games tend to have few characters compared to new entries in long running fighting games.

The first Smash Bros back in the N46 days only had 12 characters, for example... Arms right now has 10, and that one has more varied movesets per character because of the arm-swapping mechanic, which provides a lot of possible combinations.

In my opinion, 10 characters is quite alright for the first entry on a fighting game, especially considering they're promising to give us some more characters as free DLC. Can't really complain here.

Gemmol2960d ago

if this game come and take over, putting other fighters sales to shame they deserve it..........tell them keep their games on ps4 and xbox one and enjoy taking a loss on their fighting game..........its just like i wrote in another topic.......with ps4 xbox one Switch generation.....fighting games seems to take a dip in sales......when street fighter 4 came out everyone and their mother wanted to play i had two copies for ps3......regular and arcade edition........

look at smash bros on Wii U out sold street fighter 5 on a system with a lot more customers to sell to........if this damage street fighter brand.......capcom only one to blame to make it an exclusive for ps4......the sony fans got what they wanted an exclusive and barely support it.........

hope arms be the best fighter this holiday, but if nintendo bring Smash deluxe it will take away from arms sales since its a new IP........smash on Wii U was already perfect i wonder what they could add

TekoIie2960d ago (Edited 2960d ago )

Yeh, we're moving into an era where developers want to keep players... well... playing their games (I mean like longer than the first week/month).

I've noticed that while a lot of devs have been bringing free content to multiplayer shooters and Dota-like games, fighters have been the exception. It's just something where we're waiting for the developers/publishers to get with the program in this particular genre.

There's nothing wrong with having paid DLC but standards are changing and hopefully, it's towards a system that's consumer friendly.

Maaaan, i thought i was going to be the only one to comment on that.

Nintendo finally explains what free upgrades do for Switch games on Switch 2

All 12 games are getting different upgrades. Some get full visual and frame rate enhancements, while others get GameShare support only.

darthv7235d ago

hmm... those improvements for the zelda games is kinda weak. I was expecting improved frame rate, or at the very least more stable. Sad there is nothing for Paper Mario, that one could use a 60fps mode like the original GC version.

ocelot0734d ago

Both Zelda games both run at 1440p and 60fps now. On the switch they both play at 30fps.

--Onilink--34d ago

The main issue will be if they don’t remove the double buffer vsync in them.

Yes, they are technically already 60fps capped, but that vsync setup means even a single dropped frame below 60 sends it to 30fps.

Now if they are also increasing the resolution and visuals in the game, unless there is a pretty significant overhead, which is still likely but not fully understood due to the unknowns of the “emulation” setup, if the 1% lows in the game still drop it every now and then anywhere below 60, they will still end up having massive stuttering drops from 60 to 30fps.

Profchaos34d ago

He's talking about link's awakening and echos of wisdom not breath or tears

Tacoboto34d ago

The two Zeldas - EoW and LA - already run with a 60fps cap. I would hope they're not mentioning improved frame rate because it's just assumed that the Switch 2 will smooth out the drops.

Whereas the specific callouts for Bowser's Fury and Pokémon indicate a raise from 30fps to 60fps.

jznrpg34d ago

Disappointing. Not many games with not much in upgrades.

Tacoboto34d ago

So... They're not gonna do anything with that Xenoblade Chronicles X 60fps mode, huh?

CDbiggen34d ago (Edited 34d ago )

12 is a bit weak. The whole switch library is in need of a boost. Exclusives like the Xenoblades and Astral Chain would be great to see get a free update. Initially surprised Mario Wonder wasn't on the list, but I imagine they have a paid upgrade planned for that one.
