New Assassin's Creed Game Confirmed For E3 With A New Image

Skewed and Reviewed have posted the new image from Ubisoft touting the latest game in their long running series.

Garethvk2956d ago

I do think they could have given us more but hey, they have a month for all sorts of leaked stuff.

cfc832956d ago

Sorry, Gareth. I wasn't snoring at the article. I just think assassins creed is a tired i.p that needs a longer sleep.

Kurisu2956d ago

I've only ever played the first game and Unity. I was expecting Unity to be a big step up, but it was quite a disappointment. Maybe this game can be that step up.

Garethvk2956d ago

I am curious to see what not having a game last year does for the series.

FITgamer2956d ago

I played the first 2 and I got Black Flag for free almost a year ago, but still haven't got around to playing it.

Forn2956d ago

Black Flag is wonderful.

annoyedgamer2955d ago

Its not bad but there is some definite laziness in the world building. For example the southern tip of Florida is a pile of rocks, which was all know is not true.

Harmy6662955d ago

Okay, I can appreciate some games are not to other people's tastes.

However, you can't see the step up between Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed: Unity?

Troll much?

quent2955d ago

I don't think his talking about how pretty it looks, that alone doesn't make it a better game

Movefasta19932955d ago (Edited 2955d ago )

i agree lol,the game had the best stealth in the series, there was way more interior exploration, and the game made it more difficult for you against multiple enemies, you can't just spam counter attack.
The state it was in at launch was unacceptable tho,it ran at like 20 fps,and devs had the nerve to say the frame rate was more cinematic.A lot of the hate came from that and it's understandable. But play it now or even better on pc at 60fps,and the game shines imo.

XXanderXX2956d ago

Please release same time as Scorpio does

XanderZane2955d ago

Most like, please make this a Switch exclusive game. Have an AC game every been on a Nintendo platform? It would be fresh and new for them.

XXanderXX2955d ago

Think AC 3 was on Wii U other than that can't say .

annoyedgamer2955d ago

Wouldn't be surprised if it was demoed on the Scorpio.

XXanderXX2955d ago

Think theirs a deal of sorts in the works .....

https://dontfeedthegamers.c...

XanderZane2955d ago

Ubisoft will demo the AC game at their own conference.

@XXanderXX
Yeah they have a marketing deal for "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War" on the Scorpio, which makes perfect sense since the first game was a huge hit. The game will probably look incredible on the Scorpio. MS isn't even thinking about AC. Didn't Sony have the marketing right for AC: Black Flag when the PS4 launched? If Microsoft is smart, they will nab the marketing rights for the next game from Rockstar Games after RDR2.

Relientk772956d ago (Edited 2956d ago )

I'm excited, Syndicate was great, this is from the team that gave us Black Flag, and the setting is Ancient Egypt.

All signs point to good

Kurisu2956d ago

As someone who has only played the first game and Unity, what game would you say is the best in the series? You and a lot of people seem to like Black Flag a lot, but I hear II was good as well.

Relientk772956d ago

Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood are the best

Black Flag might be the best pirate game ever

and Syndicate is great

Kurisu2956d ago

Thanks for your reply. I'm tempted to go back and give them a go on PS3 but with everything else I want to play I don't know if I can squeeze them in haha.

GamingManiac2955d ago

I am so jealous of you, you have to chance to play through ACII freshly. That game is a masterpiece!

ziggurcat2955d ago

just to echo relientk77 - AC II/Brotherhood are good (I would add in Revelations because it's part of that series of AC titles, and I enjoyed it). Black Flag, and Syndicate are also very good. Unity does have its moment (and I know you've played it), but they really tried doing too much in that one - integrating co-op, but not having it correlate to the rest of the game whatsoever... forcing the use of social media/peripheral apps to obtain items in game that somehow counted towards 100% completion (they did remove that requirement later on, though)... too many collectibles/side missions.

they went back to basics with Syndicate (made it 100% single player, lessened the collectibles, and eliminated any peripheral app nonsense), and it looks like they're continuing that with this new one.

Assassin's Creed: The Argument For a Total Franchise Reboot

Assassin's Creed has been hard done by in the past several years despite its success, and as messy as it could be, it might be time for a reboot.

They already did that in 2017 with origins. I don’t think a reboot is on the cards when Ubisoft is about to go down under lol

I hope the splinter cell remake sees the light of day before the company closes

Inverno109d ago

I doubt they'll be closing, but they are primed to be eaten up by a bigger comp. Also 2017 was nearly a decade ago, it could use another reboot or rather it should just be retired.

RaidenBlack108d ago

Origins was the reboot.
But that also alienated the original AC lovers, abit. Not everybody adores the perma-change of the IP to be vast RPGs.
What I instead propose is, alternate between Valhalla/Shadows type AC RPGs and Mirage/ACII like non-RPG releases.

PrecursorOrb109d ago

It’d be nice if they made parkour feel new

monkey602109d ago

Put the series to bed, It's tired! Revisit your stagnant properties.

Profchaos109d ago

What do you do when you've already milked everything dry

Noskypeno108d ago

What is old might feel new again. A new splinter cell with semi open levels but still having a linear structure (not just one giant open world) that have multiple paths to complete the objective but still have stealth be the main priority would feel fresh, especially with modern graphics and military gadgets .

FinalFantasyFanatic108d ago

I agree, from anecdotal evidence, all franchises eventually stagnate, it might be a good time to start something new.

PRIMORDUS109d ago

"it might be time for a reboot." No it might be time to put this shit to rest for a few yrs. A good 4-5 then come back.

Profchaos109d ago

Total franchise reboot. This ac game is basically the hail Mary to keep Ubisoft alive if this fails the share price will be so low they will be forced to sell and likely absorbed into another org as the Ubisoft name carries almost no weight.

Don't get me wrong they will end up selling after ac regardless but it will be the difference of getting the deal they want vs the deal they don't

A Wild West Setting Doesn't Seem Too Bad For Assassin's Creed

With many wondering what route the franchise should take next, Assassin's Creed should finally visit the Wild West era.

Tell me how that's going to be significantly different than colonial America. AC is about showcasing different cultures throughout history. They already did Native Americans in AC3, so then just cowboys, outlaws, ranchers, etc? Kinda feel like there's already a game out there that does that really freaking well. Hmmm, maybe the one in the thumbnail?
