Universal HD DVD, Blu-ray Disc Player from LG On Sale

They (Toshiba and Sony) said it couldn't be done; that the respective forums won't approve a universal player that can read both HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc because each spec prohibit a device that can read the other format. But today, the first universal high definition player has gone on sale.

devices like this are only going to prolong the format war. That isn't good for gaming. I don't care who wins out at this point...just want to see someone win out in the next year and a half. If this catches on...which I kinda doubt it will given the cost....its just going to drag out a final winner.

BluRay (only) players launched at up to $2,000.
And BluRay players can still run $1,000+.

This device is actually a steal when you think about what it can do.

A steal would be buying a blu ray player for $499....

when I can buy a 20gb PS3 $500 and a Toshiba HD-DVD player $500=$1000. I can get 7 or 8 movies with that extra $200 and play PS3 games when they are released.

wouldnt it be better to buy an XBox360 and a PS3 for less money, then you can spend money on games and films, and probadly still wouldnt spend anymore then what it costs to buy that.
Im not even going to think about that product as, in my opinion its a waste of time making it.

because as stated its pro longing the format war, it costs too much.
