As to the 'paranoia' thing. Sure sometimes people imagine things you know. Sometimes it's just imagination. However questioning everything is probably a better attitude than saying amen when the CIA tell you it's all 'conspiracy theory' for example. Well rude-ro if you do wanna go there how about we bring up sony's many lawsuits that go under the radar? Biggest one being the 7 year lawsuit for stealing the idea for the dualshock. Or how they copy off of the latest tech that companies come out with. Nintendo wii came out and caught on, here comes the move to copy it. 2019 seems reasonable. That's 3 years after the Pro. I wouldn't mind waiting until 2020 but I'm not sure Sony will let MS play the power card that long.

I do know that MS won't have the guts to release at the same time as Sony anymore. Now both companies can play the power card until the other releases.

I can't see this generation lasting longer or the same length as the last gen. PS3 and 360 lasted what 7 or 8 years before the PS4/XB1 released. Come the end of 2018 this gen would be 5 years old.

I think we will hear something about the PS5 next year. Weather that be (very slim chance) of a announcement early 2018 with a release of late 2018. Or a mid/late 2018 announcement and a release early/Mid 2019.

I think Sony will keep with the x86 with full PS4 backwards compatibility.

PS5 isnt coming for a few years.. The scorpio isnt a threat to the PS4 because the scorpio (like the pro) will have the same exact games as a standard xb1/PS4.. The mid gen upgraded versions cannot play exclusive titles that utilize the extra power.. Its really not even worth discussing next gen for quite some time.. This gen still has a lot to offer and theres nothing the scorpio/pro will have that others cant play on the cheaper variants.. Games are all we need to worry about and it all seems to be well for now..

it will be here in about 1 and a half time. This is why its stupid for me to buy the scorpio when it arrives. That would mean I would be paying 450-500 dollars, just for 1.5 years, when I can use my PS4Pro right now and buy the PS5 when it hits.

I don't see this is a bad thing at all and I bought a PS4 and a PS4 Pro if it comes out next year I will trade in my PS4 Pro and buy it as long as it's backwards compatible and I'll slap it beside my gaming PC and Xbox One Scorpio because at my age and my little bit of matter time I get to play games I want to have the most fantastic experience that money can buy then it will be the PS5 and the Xbox Scorpio and my Rx 480 Crossfire PC that gives me that I bust my ass and my Factory for every dollar I get and I'll spend it on what's important to me

2018 seems a little early but if it comes I will buy it. Owned just about every console ever released except xb1. I would have skipped the Jaguar and a couple others too looking back but oh well. PlayStation has always been good to me.

Expecting PS5 to release in 2023 and be annoyed when it releases earlier would be stupid. The Pro was a mid-gen upgrade, so 3 years after that, 2019, seems reasonable.

I will go the PC route if there won't be a new gen in 2019/2020!

MS isn't competing necessarily with sony anymore. Scorpio in essence with only the X1 is it at all with anything labeled as a generational product. The Scorpio is just the new beginning way of how ms is conducting business. They have already came out and said this is their new business model. All sales at this point forward isn't about how many sales there have been vs Sony/Nintendo just total sales of xboxes. MS will continue to sell the X1 slim and Scorpio and in 3 years more than likely another upgrade from the Scorpio and another 3 years after that. Following a similar timeline as cell phones. Each time being a fully BC machine to all the games from the Xbox inventory forward. Where as eventually they will stop developing games for models two steps back or whatever model back they choose. Similar to PCs. The Xbox disc covers will probably say need atleast this Xbox to play this game in future.

The CEO of Sony germany already stated that the ps5 will be released in 2019 or after. Without a shrink to 7nm It's higly unlikely that they will release a ps5.
