Hopefully it won't be too bad

Patriot4Life2539d ago (Edited 2539d ago )

MS has marketing agreement for this game.

For MS sakes it better be much better than Andromeda

freshslicepizza2539d ago

And as we can see the needless attempts to cast Microsoft aside is clear from the opposing fanbase. Microtransactions are being pushed by everyone because gamers buy them and for the most part they are completely optional and at times just cosmetic, better get used to it.

indysurfn2538d ago

Micro transactions I'm out. And Moldybread we have a choice. Buy the games without Microtransaction if there are enough people standing up like men. Publishers are looking at how many people buy, or resist them. I don't have to get used to them.

Let the non thinkers spend 150$ easily on a single game and still not have everything. I can't and will not afford it. Yeah I may have a top end TV, top end HDR player, very top end entertainment cent, and every console and game I want (many not even open yet) but I'm not spending that for a single game.

I was born poor, I know all about micro transactions. People paying Micro transactions for a game when there are better games with no micro transactions is a very conscious choice. As long as the majority does not want them companies will be forced to abandon them. It is not like we have to be have a discouraged and beat down attitude.

"better get used to it."

Seems like you enjoy payign for things that used to be included in the game and unlocked for free...

CrimsonWing692539d ago

Who cares? don't buy them if you hate them.

annoyedgamer2539d ago

I exercise that right for everything published by EA.

rezzah2538d ago

Along with Activision and Ubisoft.

We all saw Bioware's fall from grace but now they truly never want gamers to trust them again. Though I suppose if it's only cosmetic and easily to get through regular gameplay then it's not that big of a deal but this is still a new low for Bioware.

NapalmSanctuary2539d ago

If you're talking about ME: Andromeda, that was Bioware Montreal's work. They're basically the B team. The team that made the original ME trilogy is who's working on this one. They didn't have anything to do with Andromeda. That said, I'd be lying if I said I had any faith in any game that was internet reliant and had microtransactions. Especially an action heavy title from a team that specializes in rpgs. The entire scenario just screams 'money grab'.

Summons752539d ago

Da2: garbage, ME3: terrible, DAI: WTF were they thinking? They also worked with their B team on that terrible excuse for a game Andromeda. Bioware doesn't specialize in RPGs anymore, they haven't since ME2. They are a shell of their former self and everything they do (including this like you say) is a money grab. They don't care about the audience they had, only about the checks EA writes.

rainslacker2539d ago

Bioware, or more likely EA, cut out a huge chunk of content from Mass Effect 3 to sell as DLCm when it was so obviously part of the original game as it had major story elements in it. If people continued to trust them after that, then that's on them.

I don't trust any publisher on these matters really. Sometimes we'll see this stuff, sometimes we won't. I've moved past praising a publisher or developer who says "no MT" for their game, because it doesn't mean they've really moved away from the practice of making them. They seem to put out statements like that hoping that a moment of good will will sell their game better, only to go back to these things when it serves them

indysurfn2538d ago

always starts off cosmetic to ovoid being detected.

Microsoft should have left them stay 3rd party

GamerRN1d 1h ago

If they are let go, they can be whatever they want. They ARE 3rd party now... 🤦

Barlos22h ago

Yeah, they're also jobless.

GamerRN16h ago

They can form a company if they want, they are just as jobless as if "Microsoft had left them as 3rd party".

peppeaccardo17h ago

"MIcrosoft leaves Bethesda do what they know how to do best" ... close! Oh the irony ....
(Citation from a week old article)

ChasterMies13h ago

I think Microsoft and other game publishers are letting people go because they think ai will replace them. Doesn’t matter how much profit they make. They were always going to be let go.

PassNextquestion1d 3h ago (Edited 1d 3h ago )

Bethesda France was made up of roughly 15 people... they couldn't of being doing much

Bethesda France mainly did publishing and marketing within the region

blacktiger1d 1h ago

that's a shame for you to say that, i'm sure Elite loves hearing what you just said.

Mr Logic11h ago

What a stupid thing to say. The elites give 0 fucks what we say on an obscure website in the comments section.

Crows9011h ago

You can always reach out and give them jobs at your company man. Don't wait

Profchaos1d 3h ago (Edited 1d 3h ago )

Bethesda France focused on publishing and marketing in the region. And 15 people lost their jobs as part of the closure.

I wonder if this is part of Microsoft's strategy to abandoned physical media or possibly gamepass advertising makes their roles redundant you don't need to market a game as hard when the majority of players get the game as part of a sub which already promoted upcoming games

Tacoboto1d 3h ago

It's France too, there's a high likelihood only 1-2 people on the team even had an Xbox.

Profchaos1d 2h ago

Possibly guven all the leaks we know the Xbox brand is really struggling in the region.

Yi-Long23h ago

Well, if your consoles and games are barely found in any stores any more, of course you're gonna struggle finding consumers ...

XiNatsuDragnel1d 2h ago

Tbh Microsoft I think Bethesda being 3rd party same with Activision would probably more competitive than thus scenario imo

Profchaos1d ago (Edited 1d ago )

I think it would have been better for all parties really especially gamers

TheColbertinator1d 1h ago

The recently purchased Activision French offices might take over all the licensing and marketing for Microsoft in France from now on.

I’m Glad Atlus & SE Changed Dates To Avoid Competing With Shadow Of The Erdtree

Saad from eXputer: "I'm glad I don't have to choose between Square Enix, Atlus, and FromSoftware due to bad release windows and Shadow of the Erdtree."

H91d 21h ago

More intelligent than guerilla games

raWfodog1d 4h ago (Edited 1d 4h ago )

Atlus is releasing their game one week before Erdtree, SE is releasing theirs one week after.

HZD released four days before Zelda, HFW released one week before Elden Ring.

It seems to me like they are still releasing their games too close to Erdtree.

VincentVanBro4h ago(Edited 4h ago)

What a word vomit, rambling, turd of an article that simply states the obvious. Classic exputer.

Sony Could Increase Your Game's Difficulty If It Sees You Complain About It

Sony has recently published a new patent that wants to dynamically handle the games' difficulty and gameplay based on the player's emotions.

jznrpg1d 4h ago

This is something I might use. Sometimes I play some good games but they don’t have difficulty option and are a little too easy.

Profchaos1d 4h ago

Souls games will be like that players struggling make it harder

PassNextquestion1d 3h ago (Edited 1d 3h ago )

I think if used correctly it could work well

jambola23h ago

cool idea
cool idea for horror games especially
the way it's explained here sounds like it could never be forced hopefully, so that's ok with me
