Weren't games considerably harder back in the 80's and 90's?

Captain_Tom2964d ago

@Nivekki

Then go back and play them. I did, and I crushed them without even trying.

The only games that were "Hard", were games in the 80's - but those were artificially hard because of how insanely short they were. All it took was an hour or two of practice, and then you could beat the ENTIRE game from start to finish in 3 hours lol. That is NOT hard!

I don't know, it just felt annoying to me. So many fake exits in Outlast 2 that you have to pray to pick the right route. You just end up dying over and over again until you pick the single right route to take. It really breaks the immersion and the first Outlast wasn't like that at all. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the game but the complaints like this are pretty understandable.

littlefatgirl2965d ago

but they usually light up the path you need to go. It's a little visual hint that's really easy to use to avoid getting lost.

TXIDarkAvenger2965d ago

Eh, I don't think it was like that all the time. For instance there is a part with 2 doors like right next to each other where both doors are lit but one of them is locked. A lot of people seem to agree there is a lot of trial and error in this game rather then it being so simple as to follow the light.

Fist4achin2965d ago

Wait a minute, someone died in Alien Isolation?

akurtz2965d ago

on hardest difficult, i probably died about twice

Fist4achin2965d ago (Edited 2965d ago )

That alien kicked my ass, even when I was leaning backwards and holding my breath. It must have been a fart that gave me away. Oh well, I look forward to more from them.

akurtz2965d ago (Edited 2965d ago )

same here, in the lockers?? i would lean back and i'd still ended up getting destroyed.

I played through most of the PS4 version of the game but stopped because another game came out. I bought it last year for PC with the intention of using the VR mod but haven't gotten around to setting it up. I am glad I waited.

Neonridr17d ago

Great game, even better in VR. A little drawn out by the end, but I hope we see CA do something a little different with the sequel.

OtterX16d ago (Edited 16d ago )

Sweet. I also rebought this game on Steam for the purpose of VR. I'll have to give it another shot w full immersive controls. I had only tried it out briefly before.

It's funny this was never officially released at retail as a VR game, bc it feels so perfect for it!

Higher Tier PlayStation Plus Members Can Claim These 10 Spooky Games For Free

If you don’t plan on trick-or-treating or going to a Halloween-themed party, the next best thing is to relax with a spooky game, and PlayStation Plus members can get some cool games for free. If you’re a PS+ subscriber, there are a bunch of games perfect for Halloween that you can get completely for free.

Note: Some games require higher PS+ tier levels to enjoy free.

TriniOutsider226d ago

Can we stop with the word "Free" when it comes to these subscription services, please? These games aren't free if people are paying for the service.

Juancho51226d ago

Calm down, we all know what it means. You’re not paying for the individual game, it’s included. Stop acting outraged over nothing.

TriniOutsider226d ago

Your response is exactly what's wrong with gaming today.

I've always against subscription based gaming services.

1nsomniac225d ago

He doesn't need to calm down. He's stating what is factual and what should be common sense, however it's clear some people still don't understand this.

It is not free. You do not receive them if you're not paying the subscription to receive them. No ones getting angry other than yourself. He's just stating the simple common sense that no one is receiving a free game they are receiving a game "included" in their subscription plan - That they pay for!

False and manipulative writing/advertisement is wrong and counts on the less educated letting it go unchallenged.

Elda226d ago

Exactly. If anyone wants to play any of these games through PS+ one has to pay a monthly subscription fee which means it's not free.

northpaws225d ago

@TriniOutsider

We all know what it means, no one is confused, chill.

TheNamelessOne226d ago (Edited 226d ago )

All great games, honestly. Though, I did feel The Devil In Me was the worst game that Supermassive has put out.

LoveSpuds226d ago

I went out and bought Dredge, one of my favourite games i have played this year.

If you haven't played it, you really should give it a chance.

Nacho_Z225d ago

Dredge is great, really enjoyed it. One of my favourites too and something original as well.

derek225d ago

Alan Wake 2 is available in the subscription?

1nsomniac225d ago

No. It's just a really poorly written article. Alan Wake 2 is part of the subscriptions "Trial" section - So it's simply a demo, that's all.

Simple "bait and switch" article trying to get hits using manipulative writing.

derek225d ago

Oh, ok. I looked on the app and saw the trial available thought I was missing something.
