The original Dawn of War, launched back in 2004 was a good old-fashioned RTS. Dawn of War 2 decided to shake things up a bit, leaving behind some of the traditional RTS mechanics in the favour of focused battles comprising of fewer but more powerful units.

John: I am not too sure what I have been playing. It has the Warhammer 40K brand on it, it has the Dawn of War name on it, but why does it feel like any other real time strategy game? Where was the innovation that Dawn of War brought to the table when it first came out?
I'm not much of an RTS guy.. Is this a good one to get me into the genre?
