Marvel vs Capcom Infinite won't feature in-game currency to unlock DLC fighters

Capcom has confirmed that the forthcoming Marvel vs Capcom Infinite will feature a 2017 DLC pass that includes six fighters and alternate uniforms, however players will not be able to unlock these fighters using an in-game currency like Capcom's other fighter, Street Fighter 5.

They didn't close up when they did the same exact thing with Street Fighter 4 and MvC3. Street Fighter 5 is literally the only game where they have in-game currency to unlock DLC characters.

The Mortal Kombat and Injustice games also do not feature in-game currency for DLC characters. Yet they don't fail either.

It really depends on how many characters come in the basic package package and how many come with the DLC, and the price. SF5, while decent mechanically, was a total ripoff. I bought the Deluxe addition on sale for $40, and I still feel ripped off. Tekken 3 is the gold standard for how to do character/costume unlocks IMO.

Charge full price for half a game at launch, then sell the idiots who bought it $200 worth of DLC if they want the finished product.
