'Call of Duty: WWII' won't ignore the Holocaust anymore

Mashable: "This is a big change for World War II-set games."

Tough & touchy subject , I would just acknowledge in mention it , no need to open wounds by going overboard .

Relientk772547d ago

It's people like you which is why

1. Tracer's "sexy" pose was taken out of Overwatch
2. Cammy was censored in Street Fighter V
3. Roger Jr. was taken out of Tekken

Stop censoring our video games

If Sledgehammer Games wants to have the Holocaust in the game then they can have the damn Holocaust in the game.

XXanderXX2547d ago

Those things are insignificant and are worthless, trivial garbage .
compared to something as gut wrenching as the atrocitie that was the Holocaust.

Relientk772547d ago

I was just giving examples of censorship. I can't help that there isn't another Holocaust example or something to that effect. In Modern Warfare 2 you could shoot civilians in an airport.

The game developers can make the game that they want to make. People need to stop censoring games. Video games are an artform. You should not censor art.

If you don't want a historically accurate WW2 shooter with the Holocaust, then don't play it.

Also you should probably ignore Wolfenstein The New Order then as well as that has similar themes (despite being fiction)

TargusX2547d ago

Stop talking rubbish mate, these things happen for a good reason.

slate912547d ago

I agree with you relientk, but no need to label him. Im sure he could have been persuaded in other ways. But I do share your frustration.

XXanderXX2547d ago

Don t mind historical accuracy just as long that they don't dwell and keep it simple. That's all

Relientk772547d ago

I agree with Slate91 for he is wise.

I apologise to Xander, if that seemed like a labeling or attack on him. That was not the intent. Slate91, Frustration is the perfect word.

CarlosX3602546d ago

I perfectly understand Relientk77's frustration, it's the same frustration I have with gaming. Especially going far back to MGS2 with the whole WTC towers removal, so we got a shitty ending in MGS2.

I'm all for Sledgehammer Games to visit the Holocaust situation. We really need a scene that touches upon it. But if we complain about it, it'll be removed. That's the frustration that Relient has. So, everyone just chill.

I disagree... and how fitting for today's climate.

kneon2547d ago

If you want games to be considered an art form then you have to be willing to deal with uncomfortable subjects. Not that I would put forth COD as an example of gaming as art.

Relientk772547d ago

Cool let's play some Nazi Germany missions

Sounds exciting. It's part of history, people need to just deal with it already

XbladeTeddy2547d ago

Just don't confine the British to having a campaign all about the SAS. We Brits had soldiers too and did actually fight in WW2, Yes, America didn't single handedly take on the world.

dRanzer2547d ago

Im not saying the British soldiers didnt fight and not contributed to the war effort.
But when USA join the war(againt their will) this is actually singed the death decree of the Axis Powers
Overall any human who fought in the war deserves respect

XbladeTeddy2547d ago

I will be first to admit that without our American brothers help we wold have lost. Got a lot of love for Americans.

81BX2547d ago (Edited 2547d ago )

@ xblade... sure buddy. You keep telling ur self that. Now Pardon me as I crush my beer and speed off in my pick me up truck! MERICA!
Edit: just in case, this is clearly a joke

COD WWII could have potential for large war Clans again. It must have: User Controlled Private Servers, good Clan Support, a social area for Clan members and friends to meet(Headquarters), able to host Private Clan Wars on invitation and a number of other Clan Supported options like hosting Private and Open Clan Wars, Private and Open Competitions & Tournaments.  We'll see.....

This game must support Large online War Clans!  This "Headquarters" social room shows potential for Clans. 24 vs 24 can work.  32 vs 32 would be better.

Including indies I’ve bought like more than 20 games, good deals all around.

P_Bomb987d ago

I’ve overindulged too! Gonna pump the brakes on this next round. Unless there’s a PS+ discount. Need a cheap sub for my kid so I’m not always changing primaries.

solideagle987d ago (Edited 987d ago )

could you please suggest good indie games (which are on sale)? I love JRPGs or action RPGs but I can play almost any genre e.g. Transistor is £3.74 which I think is a steal :)

shinoff2183987d ago

Check out earthlock. Its pretty good

Old school jrpg try cosmic star heroine I really like that one

Aloymetal987d ago

Disco elysium, man eater, inside, limbo
Dead cells, observer, to name a few

LoveSpuds987d ago

Don't sleep on Darkest Dungeon, Child of Morta or Spiritfarer.

Although it won't be on sale, the best indie I have ever played is release in a week or so, it may be 20 quid but you have to play Hades.

GhostofHorizon987d ago

Told my partner to stop me from browsing. We'll see how that goes, the first part of the sale already got me.

ElvisHuxley987d ago (Edited 987d ago )

Anthem 85% off? Thought they went free to play. Has the game gotten any better?
Edit-Nvm, it's Europe anyway.

Hellcat2020987d ago

The second phase of sales is for all regions
It's just not yet showing up in the ps store

Servbot41987d ago

They abandoned Anthem. Typical EA.

CobraKai987d ago

I can’t believe they’re still trying to sell it

BioShockGX987d ago

Got Anthem for $5 last year. Not a bad game for that price lol

ElvisHuxley986d ago

Appreciate the downvotes folks. I guess merely asking a question bothers the incredibly mature users here.

anast987d ago

I might finally go for Black Desert. I've been playing ESO (without MTing my characters) for some throw away entertainment, but the combat is so "#$&&%.

Servbot41987d ago

BDO sucks. Only good for the character creator.

anast987d ago

Is the combat worth it?

Phoenixryu987d ago

I tried BDO a few months ago. It's a decent game but I got bored of it pretty quickly. Combat is very action-based, it's fun but very repetitive. There are a lot of menus and most of the in-game systems are a bit more complicated than they needed to be. Some game modes won't let you buy and sell certain items until you convert to a different mode etc. Basically, the game is kind of convoluted.

phoenixwing987d ago

The mobs barely react in bdo. You can kill half of a mob of enemies before they'll even attack. You'll basically be grinding mobs until you can fight a boss that will even react well. Don't recommend it

anast986d ago

Thanks. Is there an alternative to ESO?

phoenixwing986d ago

@anast I'd recommend playing the single player version of es if you haven't exhausted your playthroughs

EvertonFC987d ago

Highly recommend the "metro saga bundle" £25 all 3 games and all DLC plus free upgrade for ps5 exodus 😊
