Starbreeze said that they'll avoid developing single player only games like Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons to focus on replayable co-op multiplayer games.

A damn shame, I loved their single player games

KaiPow2555d ago

I guess they already forgot about publishing that John Wick VR game a couple months ago.

freshslicepizza2554d ago

its about money and investment so when somone finishes that single player game then what? a lot of people sell or trade them in and that does not help the publisher. by adding dlc and making it multiplayer the gamer is engaged longer.

Dark_Knightmare22554d ago

Which is stupid that it has come to that. I treat my favorite games or games I really like just like movies and replay them just like I would rewatch my movies. There's no rule out there saying once you beat a game you can never play it again and it's ridiculous a lot of people feel that way nowadays. Hopefully this mp fad will die down eventually and we can get back to awesome sp games that people play over and over like the old days but till then what can we do

freshslicepizza2554d ago

The problem is in both ends, you have those that like single player games and don't like online games that have co-op or multiplayer so they think those games shouldn't be $60 unless there is a single player campaign attached to it. Which is also a stupid argument.

I enjoy both experiences but until they get rid of the used market I fear there will be a continuous trend towards online enabled games along with co-op and multiplayer types.

thats a real shame :( i bought it on both the 360 and xbox one because i enjoyed it so much personally :/ and loved it on both ... thought it was a very enjoyable and different to what has become the standard affair of games nowadays ... makes me sad they are throwing the potential for another type of game like that away because of whatever reason they have come up with :/

TheCommentator2554d ago

I didn't mind Brothers, but it didn't really hold my interest that well. Brothers did have a certain charm to it that I liked though.

TBH, I want another Chronicles of Riddick. Starbreeze/Tigon did a great job with those games.

How long until they get sued and it gets taken down? I say a month or 2

PRIMORDUS13h ago

Sued for what? It's just an emulator no ROMs are with it. ROMs are easy to get anyway, but with iPhone you can't just copy and paste like Android unless it's jail broken I think. Anyway Nintendo should be more concerned with their ROMs up to torrent for years for all of their concoles, but then again they can't do nothing about it, they never will and I love it. 🤣

NotoriousWhiz10h ago

As long as it isn't emulating the Switch, it'll be fine.

RonnySins11h ago

Naaah! Don't want to waste time emulating on iPhone.

Knightofelemia9h ago

Won't belong before Nintendo bangs on Apple's door to have the emu removed. Like I say you take down one six more take it's place. Problem is people are putting emu's on such stupid platforms. The good emus are the ones not on stupid platforms like a red target. The good emu's are word of mouth and keep a low profile.

No offense but Palworld isn't that original either, with that said… ew Tencent no thank you. I love the survival genre but all these half baked early access games have ruined the genre for me.

exputers2h ago

>Palworld isn't that original either

Can't disagree with that, but it did spin the Pokemon dynamic in a unique way, you gotta give Pocketpair that. Now by doing so, prepare for a ton of Palworld clones, both on PC and mobile.
