The reason the new trilogy has a female lead, rogue one's story was changed and this game has a female lead is Disney hired a female head to run LA and its part of their big diversity for the sake of diversity. Its why Thor is now a women, war machine is getting a movie and the Xmen; first class, Apocalypse, days of futures past and Logan were all about strong female leads. Have strong female leads just stop shoe horning them into stuff that wasnt written or designed for them because then its not diversity its plain tokenism.

Yeeeeah, the new Trilogy has a trio of central characters, similar to the original, and like then, only one is a woman. The next movie is focused on Luke Skywalker. There are a TON of comics and novels with male leads, as well as the current TV series.

If it really bothers you that maybe ten out of thirty pieces of media have a female lead, you might have some issues.

And FYI: Marvel is run independently, Joe Quesada and Axel Alonso are the ones making hiring choices and many of the current progs there worked there pre-buyout, and Disney kinda putting their foot down is why we're getting much of the old status quo back in and politics out come this fall.

P.S. Kathleen Kennedy has been at Lucasfilm since before the buyout, and was made co-chair of LFL by Lucas.himself.
