Matt Ferguson of ScholarlyGamers writes "I’m a huge fan of CD Projekt Red and I don’t personally believe that they are going to use this trademark to systematically go after developers, a la Taylor Swift circa 2015, but the comparison serves to show just how easy it can be for a brand to get wrapped up in these types of legal battles."
Build a Rocket Boy, the developer behind the upcoming action-adventure game MindsEye, has been accused of fostering a toxic work environment.
Well we already know where the review scores are going to be for this one. Who knows how his game is going to be but the narrative has been set and everybody is running with it so expect some pretty low reviews.
This is definitely not a day one for me and I'll wait for it to go on sale one day. Which probably won't be too long LOL.
This game releases in 13 days and we still don't really have a clear idea on what it is exactly. Everytime a game releases without some extended gameplay to show us what the actual loop looks like it turns out they were hiding a turd. I hope im wrong, we could use more urban open world games to at least give us something other than GTA alone, but the marketing for this game is weird
Culture in work environment should be good and fair to everyone.
But Hope this game is good and sells well so companies can invest in more single player titles, can do without anymore live service trash.
The Witcher 3 released a special item for its 10th anniversary, and it's hopefully a sneak peek at The Witcher 4's launch plans.
The "New Wild Hunt Release" that they are referring to are the controllers, and wanting to see more stuff like special edition controllers for The Witcher 4.
Tomb Raider 12 developer has brought in an "external partner" as mysterious AAA game gets delayed to FY 2026/27 by Embracer.
I believe in CD Projekt Red for now. We'll see how they handle things if they get the trademark in America or not.
"Cyberpunk" cannot be trademarked. "Cyberpunk 20XX" can. The first is a genre of fiction, the second is a particular work within that genre of fiction. In any case, it's not CDPR's property to trademark anyway, R. Talsorian Games, the creators of the original pen-and-paper RPG, are the ones who own the IP, while CDPR owns the license. Same casw with The Witcher. The Witcher as a game is CDPR's trademark. The Witcher as an IP belongs to Andrzej Sapkowski.
Am on CD Project side of these matters , which sounds very reasonable.
Can someone please teach Taylor Swift to Fckoff?
