A surprisingly strong start to the year.
Square Enix and Platinum Games' action role-playing game, Nier Automata, has nearly reached sales of 10 million units worldwide.
I have it for Switch, (Nier Automata The End of YoRHa Edition) amazing game.
According to a former PlayStation boss, NieR: Automata revived the Japanese gaming industry, which was just following trends before it.
im not sure if they "saved" it, but Taro definitely shook things up with the story telling that hes so infamous for.
especially in times when free to play model was at its peak in gaming.
I never really felt that way, but I really enjoyed NieR: Automata, I made sure to get all the endings.
I’m not sure about that but it was good to have and hope we get more games from Yoko Taro that aren’t mobile
Sony is hosting its press conference at the start of CES 2025 in Las Vegas. As usual, PlayStation took the spotlight during the presentation, but not in the way you'd expect.
out of all the titles they could have chosen, those 3 could actually make decent movies.
They’ve tried a Horizon series and it fell apart, what makes them think a film is going to work with a shorter run time.
I was hoping the GoT series would focus on Jinn after the main game.
Here's the games I've played so far and how I rank them...
1. Persona 5- My first in the series and it's the best JRPG I've played in a long long time. Truly a masterpiece.
2. HZD- What a first step for GG, venturing into uncharted territory and totally nailing it. I look forward to Horizon becoming a franchise.
3. Nioh- My first souls type game and I really enjoyed it, haven't gotten around to beating it yet but it's a game I wouldn't mind coming back to.
4. Resident Evil 7- Best Resi since 4 imo, survival horror returned in this installment and right now it's my biggest surprise of 2017.
5. NieR Automata- Didn't like it as much as I thought i would, but the combat is some of the best I've played this gen. Too bad I didn't enjoy the open world, story, or side quests at all.
6. For Honor- Typical Ubi game, MP is the focal point and they managed to throw together a BS campaign to keep the consumer quiet. Cant say I was disappointed cause I was expecting it, especially since they didn't show a single minute of campaign footage prior to release.
7. MEA- My favorite franchise ever, and now my biggest disappointment ever! It's not just the facial animations or bugs, the game just lacks substance imo. It's not fun to play and what I enjoyed in previous games (dialogue, exploring, story) I didn't find enjoyable in Andromeda. Once I found out a different studio was making this game, something told me it wasn't going to be the same.
-Horizon Zero Dawn
-Persona 5
-Resident Evil 7
-Nioh
-Gravity Rush 2
5 games i bought so far in 2017 and they are all excellent. Looking foward to the rest of the year.
Like I stated before, I haven't played anything this year besides Mirror's Edge: Catalyst and Rise of the Tomb Raider. Next month I'll start with Mass Effect: Andromeda followed by Prey, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Resident Evil VII.
