Looks like Westworld actress Shannon Woodward has a role in TLOU part II.
BAFTA Games: "The only award voted for by YOU, it’s the @EE Game of the Year. And this year’s winner is… The Last of Us Part II"
Agreed, I am in the VERY small few I suspect. But I was never too impressed with the original, the second was more polished in ever way (graphics, gameplay, script) IMO. It definitely hit some SJW talking points, but honestly I couldn't care less, as the story seemed good anyway. I will say, the Joel scene was pretty impactful to me, I NEVER thought they would do that to such a well known figurehead in the PS catalog.
I don't get the hate TBH, though, I don't think it is fake hate, just that I don't personally understand it.
The hate is mainly online by trolls of people who never played it or had it spoilt because they read the script before it was released. Not everyone who did play it liked it and that's fine but an overwhelming majority have nothing but great things to say about the game.
Doing what they did to Joel was a very ballsy move and one way to many games, films and TV shows are way to scared to do when it comes to such big characters.
There's plenty of videos on YouTube explaining why people disliked the story, if you wanted some insight.
@KyRo - Now that's just blatantly false.
I have the same thoughts as you. I enjoyed the first one, but the polish of the second sucked me in... There were some really immersive levels and dare I say it... I actually liked playing Abbie.
The AI was massively improved over 1 and that’s the only fault I could have picked with the game.
Part 2 is a love hate kinda thing, games wonderfully made but the story direction is not what I wanted. I can hate on the game for that but it doesn’t result in the game being crap just because the story didn’t go my way.
@EmperorDalek
"There's plenty of videos on YouTube explaining why people disliked the story, if you wanted some insight."
Are you seriously going to pretend there are not plenty of videos on youtube praising the story. You are the one who needs insight.
And what KyRo said is correct. Just look at the review bombing the game received on metacritic before it was even released. This is a documented fact.
And now look at the awards the game has received from actual gamer votes. You don't like it and that's fine, but you are in the minority.
People like to get mad at things that are different, they risk telling a more mature, interesting story with genuine great "twists" and people are mad because it didn't followed the marvel formula of heroic deeds and everyone's alive or resurrected and kicking "bad guys" asses.
Audience voted? Yep. Well deserved win. Glad to see actual gamers are recognizing how great this game really is.
I feel like most of the haters are actually on this site, haha. This game deserves to soak up every single award for how outstanding it was. Truly an incredible step up from the original. My only issue was the pacing which was a bit off for me personally. But everything about this game just radiated love and attention to detail from Naughty Dog. Truly excited to see what the future brings from their studio!
I think most hated either because they're just sheeple regurgitating what other haters said, or because it's a MASSIVE game and they thought they'd seem cool..
I expect there is a tiny portion who genuinely didn't like some aspect of the game, but it's fair to say this game was very well received overall and has a huge completion rate too!
As with many articles about this game, someone is using spam bots to dislike comments ... but hasn't used them on the replies so it's a bit obvious. haha.
It has been awarded so many awards, the haters can hate all they want its not gonna change anything. It still get many awards a long with sales figure that it sold.
Pretty much. I think it is the most audience voted going by the gameawards.net aggregate. It is something funny to observe, even with the numerous vocals trying to tear it down.
AUDIENCE VOTED. Once again proving only the vocal minority hated this game.
They like to pretend critics are idiots and most gamers hated it.
Look at the salty downvoters LMAO. TLOU2 has been picked as GOTY by players over 100 times now which is more than any other game ever has. The haters can't stand that truth that they are a tiny minority.
Whaaa-? No Ghost of Tsushima? But yes, those are two incredible games. The twilight years of the PS4 have certainly been a wonder to behold.
It's still one of the worst/boring sequels ever, no matter how many times you tell me "it won awards though".
When Doom has a smarter story then your narrative heavy AAA game, you got problems.
No one has to convince you of anything, though. That's the best thing about the world not revolving around you. Just because you didn't like it, doesn't mean others didn't. You're a small fish in a big pond.
You like Doom better? Good for you. Go find a Doom thread since you have no interest in this game like you say you don't.
he's still allowed to express his opinion though. No need to be so triggered about it
@ SDuck
He's voicing that opinion due to the game winning all those awards. Otherwise there is no reason to say that no one can change his mind. He was triggered the game winning that and other awards.
I'd recommend him just to move on.
"It's still one of the worst/boring sequels ever, no matter how many times you tell me "it won awards though"."
Thats your opinion. The awards it won just proved to the haters that it deserved to be the goty. And not just that, it went on to prove to the haters that not everyone hates the game by winning awards voted by the gamers themselves.
As for Doom..good for you. I didn't even know doom has a story. I thought it was mostly for gameplay.
Unless you're a big deal in the industry, no one needs to convince you of anything, because the only thing you're an authority on is your own opinion. All opinions are subjective, including the majority opinion, so no one's making you believe anything. What this proves however, is that you and the majority can agree to disagree.
Doom, story, lol.... One thing that doom never had is story. Do You even know what that word means. Story, plot, back ground story. Doom and smart story is just....
Doom Eternal did not have a smart story, it’s just a vehicle for the gameplay. It’s amazing how simple you guys are.
Considering the thousands and thousands that have voted for each of the 100+ Player's choice GOTY awards that TLOU2 has won I'd say that a lot of people do pay attention. It's funny when people try to speak for the majority when they have nothing to back that up with.
It would win best driving game if it were nominated, that's the sort of fanbase this game has. You could drive a horse, that's enough for them.
Regardless of how many awards The Last of Us 2 wins, it doesn't take away from the fact it has serious problems that were overlooked by most reviewers. Personally I thought the quality of writing was about as good as if you made a 20+ hour game out of the Mass Effect 3 ending.
"that's the sort of fanbase this game has." It wasn't fans who posted thousands of 0s on Metacritic before almost anyone had even gotten to the title screen, mate. haha.
The second TLOU2 started winning all of the big user-voted GOTY awards (e.g. IGN user award), they suddenly didn't matter anymore. Many people like the game. That's just the way it is.
Yes... The users who gave it a 0 before playing it weren't fans, so they're not part of its fanbase... What are you even trying to argue?
I'm not denying that a lot of people liked it. Honestly, I'm impressed by how high its completion rate is considering how long it is. But that doesn't change that it's a divisive game. Yes there's those who despise it, but there's also a large amount of fans who'll defend everything about it, and would absolutely vote for it as the best driving game.
I never thought user awards, or user scores were worth anything. If you made every gamer on the planet vote for their favourite games of all time, Roblox and Fortnite would probably beat The Last of Us. Games like TLOU2 getting 0's on day one is proof that user reviews don't work either, so we can agree on that.
"Regardless of how many awards The Last of Us 2 wins, it doesn't take away from the fact it has serious problems that were overlooked by most reviewers."
You wouldn't be salty enough to still be trying this hard if that were "fact."
True, it's all subjective. But I have yet to see a good argument against the notion that it didn't have a great story. There's many multi-hour videos on YouTube that have good breakdowns on why they felt the story didn't work.
Most of the time, the arguement against these breakdowns boil down to "You're just mad Joel died!" Which is utter nonsense. Yet, we're just supposed to accept that it's game of the year, and that it had an incredible story.
"True, it's all subjective."
Then don't try to dress up your opinion as more authoritative than it is by mislabeling it as "fact" when really you're just another person who got hoodwinked after falling down the YouTube rabbit hole.
Most of the time, the argument against the game is less an argument, in the sense of presenting an opinion with supporting evidence, than whiny hyperbole insistent on treating unsupported claims as facts while failing to articulate what "serious problems" they identified in the game. Which is utter nonsense because so many of these same detractors relied on falsified evidence of the game's unpopularity to fill the holes in their arguments. Yet, we're just supposed to disregard our opinions on the game and all the evidence of the game's popularity until we've satisfied a minority of people who didn't like the game.
"Regardless of how many awards The Last of Us 2 wins, it doesn't take away from the fact it has serious problems that were overlooked by most reviewers"
Or maybe the reviewers never saw it as "serious problems" which you and the sheep overlooked.
The fact that you think Tlou2 would even win as a driving game if nominated goes to show your hate towards it and the gamers who played it and liked it. Seems to me, you have a serious problem yourself.
"I never thought user awards, or user scores were worth anything."
And yet a lot of haters at the beginning were jumping from rooftops when GoTsushima won the audience award and that it matters more. Lol. Tlou2 won close to 200 Audience awards and it doesnt matter? Lol ok dude.
Reviewers didn't have a problem with the Mass Effect 3 ending initially. Even though they were smacked in the face with that monstrosity, they showed their lack of skills as critics when it completely flew over their head. So no, I don't trust the majority of outlets to have a proper opinion on the game.
You didn't deny that it would win best driving game, because you know damn well that it would.
I said I don't believe user awards matter. Of course they look nice on a game of the year edition box, so they matter in the industry to some degree. It doesn't impress me, because how many people actually played all the noteworthy games in any given year? No where near as many as the amount who vote in any of these polls. No, I don't care if GoT won an award either.
I did not play Mass effect 3 after the 1st two games to make an argument about it.
"You didn't deny that it would win best driving game, because you know damn well that it would."
I did not comment because im not that stupid to actually put it in the category of driving and that is the FACT...and from the looks of it neither the reviewers or whatever outlet are that stupid enough to do that. Maybe you should rethink that sentence because that really makes you sound dumb.
If the game doesn't impressed you, or don't care of GoT won either..then what is your point anyway. Why even create an argument you can't back up. Any game that you liked, didn't win goty? Is that why you're pissed over a game thats won so many awards?
Game deserved its win whether you like or not. Move on.
No matter what the haters think TLOU2 is a fab game winning many awards including a fab BAFTA Award.
Decent game. Gameplay was improved, but the story was mediocre at best. Part 1 was much better.
Can you in your own words describe this agenda and give me scenes or lines that you feel support this?
Wait... Does Angry Joe REALLY have more than one fan in 2021??!
This game has been analyzed and picked apart to death for all it's writing flaws at this point. This says less about the game and more about the lack of integrity and academic proficiency of those involved in modern media as a whole.
Speaking of lack of integrity, it's funny how the dislike bot suddenly went active again.
"I meant in general."
Meant what in general? What is the "this" you're referring to when you say "this says less about the game and more about the lack of integrity and academic proficiency of those involved in modern media as a whole"?
Your comment says less about the game and more about the lack of integrity and academic proficiency of those involved with consuming modern media as a whole.
"Writing flaws". Those are simply the opinions of people who didn't like the story. They can call it a "flaw" all they want, but it is subjective.
But are you seriously trying to say that anyone who reviewed the game positively are lacking integrity?
From as many comments as you've left you got a serious hard-on for this game and all it's flaws don't you?
Couldn't answer the question at all, could you? You have some deep-seated hate for this game if you are going to call out the "modern media as a whole" for their lack of integrity just because their opinion doesn't line up with yours. Oh wait....no that's not correct. Their opinion doesn't line up with whatever you are watching on youtube about the game. Sounds about right. You fit in with most of the haters.
These are the kinds of people we should just be banning, they offer nothing. Just more parasites bogging down the discourse.
Sure....let's just agree on all points. I think it is a great game and you are talking out of your ass. Sums it up nicely.
Edit: lol....wasting time works both ways, now doesn't it? You keep posting. Not much else to say. See ya
Nope. Not long enough. How do you expect me to not read that and still waste your time?
Fucking NEETs lol.
The discourse around this game still haven't died apparently, judging by the comment section here, people just have a major problem when it comes to the value of their own opinion, if they hate the game they just can't accept someone else liking it, why does it matter, every opinion is valid, personally I didn't like the game, the first half lacked substance in the most part, the second half was much better but the pacing problem killed it for me, yet here's the thing, does this game winning all those awards make my opinion not valid? No, does this game losing any award make the fans' opinion any less valid? No, fans and haters both want to use scores and reviews to prove that their opinions are right, while this notion itself is stupid because no opinion is right or wrong! So The Last Of Us Part 2 won another game of the year award by fan votes, good for them and congratulations to naughty dog, it won't change the fact I enjoyed Demon's Souls remake more, and it shouldn't enforce the fact that some have enjoyed this game more!
I don't think most of the people celebrating or citing the awards wins are trying to change your opinion of the game. You can't overlook or 'both sides' away that this was preceded by a vocal minority of detractors insisting their opinions represented the majority. The stuff got to truly ridiculous levels. You still have haters going off on random tangents attacking the game in completely unrelated articles. Happened just the other day. You still have people pathetically employing false tactics to create an unfavorable impression of the game's popularity, including the use of bots to skew the up and down votes on this site, including this comment section. A dose of reality is in order.
I do agree with what you are saying and yes the haters are doing very questionable things, I have been avoiding the discourse around the game for a while because it's quite toxic in many ways, honestly I feel ashamed to say I dislike the game because the haters give such a negative image, I don't want to be labeled as one of them, it's a damned if you do damned if you don't scenario, yet let's not forget that since the awards thing started and everytime the game wins anything, anyone with a difference of opinion gets the reply of "but the game won so many awards", Sekiro won goty and I adore it, yet I would never mention it as a argument to why the game is good, ofc this was done by the haters when GOT won the choice awards, which is also stupid, ofc celebrating the awards have absolutely nothing wrong with it, I am only talking about it as a argument point!
Edit: Typo
"Sekiro won goty and I adore it, yet I would never mention it as a argument to why the game is good, ofc this was done by the haters when GOT won the choice awards, which is also stupid, ofc celebrating the awards have absolutely nothing wrong with it, I am only talking about it as a argument point!"
I would say it's not happened with many other games. Zelda BOTW comes to mind as a fairly recent GOTY winner that gets its fair share of criticism and accusations of getting a pass on some things from reviewers. Nowhere near to the extent of the campaign against TLOU2, but here's the big difference. Convincing the public that the game is hated by gamers was not integral to BOTW criticism like it is with the campaign against TLOU2. TLOU2 had people dropping spoilers before release and Day 1 review bombs in a coordinated attempt to affect public opinion with the hopes it would turn the haters' predictions that the game wouldn't do well into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
So much of the criticism hinged on the game must be bad because people don't like it. Except people did like it. It's not like we've rested our argument on TLOU2 winning awards. No. TLOU2 winning awards is but the latest evidence in a line of evidence people who like the game have presented of its popularity. I myself have cited everything from the sales, to the completion percentage, to even the Metacritic user reviews, which, if you check, actually has more positive reviews than mixed and negative combined, and dwarfs the number of positive reviews held by many other popular games.
Yet, you still have this campaign by people trying to bend reality to their biases almost a year later. They still can't let it go. You have someone or someones in this very comment section who have artificially manipulated the comment votes no less than twice. That's why you have people slapping them with a dose of reality.
@RauLeCreuset I am not disagreeing with you on the fact that the haters want people to believe that the game is more hated than loved, which is wrong, it's obvious the game is far more loved than hated!
"It's not like we've rested our argument on TLOU2 winning awards. No. TLOU2 winning awards is but the latest evidence in a line of evidence people who like the game have presented of its popularity"
I am not disagreeing here, I am just not talking about this because like you said, the game is loved by the majority, so those people making false news are not gonna change that, I don't think the campaign people have against the game is worth any attention, also it's better for the fans like yourself to talk about the game with people who dislike the game normally, attention is energy for trolls, my original point was just that the game's popularity and awards are not an argument against reasons why people might dislike the game (the people that just dislike in a normal way, not trolls)
Well-deserved. TLOU2 is probably the best game I have ever played. Can’t wait for what NG has in store for us next.
I have platinumed the first game twice & would rank it among the greatest games ever made. The second game I completed it once & then I gave it away to a friend. I have no urge to ever play it again.
The sequel on a technical level, in my opinion, is an astonishing achievement on every level and is fully deserving of all the awards and accolades.
Where the game fell flat for me, was that I didn't like the story, the direction, or most of the new characters. I'll just leave it at that. Towards the end, I felt that the game just outstayed it's welcome a little bit. I did however love the flashback scenes.
I also take umbrage at the insults slung in the direction of players who were not too enamoured with this iteration.
Okay secretary, you can also file your comment under the "totally vapid" section.
Man I'm just waiting to get a ps5. Hopefully ND optimise the crap out off it to a cool 4k/60fps. Can't wait to experience it's glory for the first time.
ANOTHER audience voted GOTY. It's almost as if the "issues" with the game were blown out of proportion by basement dwelling Chads
You have just validated my above comment. The toxicity surrounding this game is disgraceful. I praised the game but I was not too fond of the narrative & I still get bombarded with disagrees as well as a smart @rsed reply questioning my honesty.
My point being, that some PS4 gamers just didn't enjoy the game as much (for whatever reason) as the original, myself being one of them. That is no reason to insult gamers as you are doing.
if people didn't like the game for whatever reason then that's fine they're not haters. Everyone has a right to their own opinions. Maybe you're a hater of them because their view is different? There are lots of things that make games fun to play Graphics, gameplay, story etc. Lots of people including myself maybe don't like the game because of the story and that's just fine. I might think it sucks and you think its great wow see how that works!
It would be fine if you could find a way to actually verbalize your issues with the story. You thinking it “sucks” doesn’t really mean your critique of it is valid or valuable, people on this website think Venom is a good movie. Which I think is pretty emblematic of the low brow, bottom feeding media a lot of these people enjoy. Anyways, try actually describing your issues with the game.
Most people can't do that, because they seek validation from YT instead of using their critical faculties.
Fan of the first but not the second. slow drawn out story cant skip cinematics stupid guitar playing parts and they killed off the main dude. LAME
A new discovery appears to link Uncharted 4: A Thief's End to The Last of Us 2 in an intriguing way.
In a post on The Last of Us sub reddit, user kheinrichs547 spotted that in Uncharted 4, you can find a pill bottle from Weston's Pharmacy - the same pharmacy that's seen in The Last of Us 2.
In the comments section underneath the original post on the subreddit, there are additional details about the pharmacy. It turns out that Weston's is actually present in Left Behind, the story DLC for the original Last of Us which starred Ellie and Riley. The pair explore this store in the mall that they escape to in the DLC.
im calling it now ...i found TLoUS2 has ton of easter eggs for the next game ND will develop ... if you look closely the books in TLoUS2 they r reffering to prehestoric life and space worlds/travel (also the TRex in the park)...their next game will have smthing to do with Dinosaurs and Space
The dinosaur models are pretty generic however the space ships are very customised and have been done to an extreme level of detail so 100% their next game involves space and I would assume reuse the models to a larger degree and that’s why they contain so much detail.
I thought it was confirmed years ago that ND was doing a space game. If I remember correctly, there were a few articles that mentioned them doing R&D at NASA or something similar.
@Neal ...yes Space plot/theme has been almost confirmed by the numerous leaks/indications....but prehestoric world content is not ...i m guessing will have smhting to do with that too judging by the plethora of elements in TLoUS2 and also the tons of work they ve done on organic environments
yes missing factions a lot and a return of Uncharted multiplayer and co op like uncharted 2 would be great.
Yup...has been found 5 years ago. https://youtu.be/WyA13Ll6pw...
Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann has said that his studio has some things in the works that they can’t wait to share.
IF ND then I cannot wait too to see
I believe their next project will have something related to "space"
Yea, I want something sci-fi but also grounded. And a tease of it in late-2021 🤞🏻.
But before that, in near future, 4K@60 updates for Uncharted 4, LL and TLOU II.
Personally i dont want to see any game from Druckman in collabaration with ND....and to explain myself i really would to love to see /play a game from Druckman separately that would have designed whith his own studio (team) and separately from ND .....ND is not a company to make personal opinion games and impact already successful IPs, ND is the best first party studio of PStation, is the tip of the spear for PS and needs wide acceptance , technologically perfect, super quality 3A games like Crash, Jak and Uncharted ...
Druckman needs his own studio to express himself however he wants (smhting like Kojima) i would really go buy and fully support his games but is not right to impact games that ve been created collectively , have tremendous success with their design/lore/type of game and are the flagships of one of the biggest companies in gaming
That would be a let down of comically epic proportions if it turned out that was the ‘big surprise’
Kiss PS goodbye then, if its on PC, what need is there for a console, right? If console manufacturers just want to put it all on PC, why are they bothering with console exclusivity, do they figure by leaving the console war first, theyll look like SEGA? Honestly, SEGA left at their strongest moment and then once there was no console, somehow, the quality rappidly flew downhill like Sonic at the start of Sonic Adventure 2.
Its doing far more damage than it is good. Sonys install base is massive, they dont need the PC market. Theyre just doing it because Microsoft is and it seems like a good idea after as many years riding thr innovation highway, while Microsofts sales floundered, they had to come up with some way to get sales, and picking on the PC market seemed like a way to keep from drowning, problem is, even Microsofts PC service sucked so, now theyre hanging out at Steam.
I really hope Factions 2 or TLOU Online or w/e they end up calling it, is truly expanded upon. They said the reason it wasn't included with TLOU2 was because they got too ambitious, so I want to see that ambition. I've seen rumours of a leaked 'Incursion' mode, would love if it was like an open Seattle map that you could scavenge in with friends and with PvP and PvE. That's what I would consider ambitious, if it's just the same modes from Factions 1 with no major improvements it'll be a let down (that I'll still play because Factions was great).
Same here. They must have learned so much from Factions - even though they nailed it at the time - so I'm hoping for a huge improvement given the time that's passed between the two games' development.
So excited for it!
pretty sure it's going to be uncharted thieves end and last of us 2 ps5 versions included in this "several cool things". as well as the LOU2 multiplayer. Hopefully we see a new game announcement though.
Hmm several cool things. Either a TLOU2 MP or UC/Tlou series PC announcement. Jim Ryan is really the best if its the latter.
0/10 for trolling? Remember when HZD PC leak was laughed out by ppl? Look at that game now. Oh and Days Gone PC? Yep. So who's trolling?
You fanboys are quick to defend Sony. But when Xbox was in this situation laughed at them but with Sony "Its ok, its for so more people can play the game." LMAO. What a joke
@Lego; you're being disagreed with because of the context of this info from ND. They wouldn't boast about cool things to come, while referring to pc ports, that's just obvious. I see it happening eventually, yeah, but that isn't what they're referring to here. Here they are talking about exciting stuff that will be relevant to their fanbase, which is on PlayStation.
Also, regarding the thing about Sony and MS fanboys you've mentioned, there's a huge difference between MS releasing every single game on PC on day 1, vs Sony doing it years later after sales have already dried up on their console.
I'm hoping a new IP, which I know Jim Ryan said they're a big risk, but nothing ventured nothing gained.
Some will work and some won’t. If not for taking chances no game would exist. We need new IP.
Yet nowhere near as much as earlier generations.
You want to make comparisons? juxtapose the PS1 library original IPs to PS4 or even PS2 original IPs to PS4.
I get that game development is way more expensive, but giving consumers less and less original IPs isn’t doing the industry any favors.
@CrimsonWing69
Naw bro, you compare with other consoles and Sony is still way ahead in terms of new IP's... You can't compare ps4 to ps1! obviously the ps1 was a new platform so of course your gonna get shitloads of new ips! like duh...
ps4 on the other hand is more established so as a company of course they are gonna play it safe and use the more known ips like any other platform holder. which is why I have much respect for Sony's consoles cause they are still pumping out new ip's every gen unlike the other ones that play it way to safe.
@Army_of_Darkeness
That doesn’t make sense. I’m comparing the companies previous generations to their current generations.
The PS4 was a new platform as is the PS5. I’m not sure what you mean by “new platform gets a shitload of new IPs”. Isn’t that how it should be with any new platform? ...like, duh?
Being more established means you play it safe? I’d venture to say if you were brand new to the industry you’d play it safe. It makes no sense to take risks starting out and being successful to take less risks. The only reason you see less IPs is the cost to develop games are substantially more expensive than in the past.
Still, my point is if you don’t take risks with new IPs the industry will get stagnant. Can you imagine if in the past they didn’t take a risk on something like The Last of Us just because they’re afraid to take the risk and instead just gave us more of a game that was successful from the generation before? It’d be like eating Thanksgiving leftovers all the time so-to-speak.
@CrimsonWings69 games cost a lot more to make and a lot more time these days so less new IP from everyone is obvious . But they still do it better than anyone
its really no different than the movie business. For every blockbuster movie that rakes in 100s of million there are a dozen that barely break even or even lose money.
Currently play tlou2 for the first time, and damn what a game and story. So far ND have stepped their game up ten fold from the first, the story is engaging and as far as I can tell, realistic but I'm only at Abbys flash back foyr years earlier, thats where I stopped. Joel, oh man thats fkd but he had a past before Ellie and did things. The combat is so much better, the ability to go prone and use the tall grass as an advantage is awesome and I find myself stealing more than anything. I havent even started to use any explosives and traps. The shamblers, a new enemy type is a new twist and seem to be the missing link between clickers and boomers. Female clickers, nice, but don't know if there are any female shamblers boomers.
Why is Ellie still affected from infected spores if she is immune and can't be infected from a bite? Why are the infected even attacking Ellie as she is "tainted", thats different to the World War Z movie where the zombies ignored the old man.
I can't wait to see what Naughty Dog has in store for us next if tlou2 is anything to go by.
Correction: stealthing not stealing.
Autocorrect I guess said stealthing isn't a word so he must mean stealing, imma hook him up and change it for him.
Meh, I've lost interest of the current Naughty Dog now a days. It seems like force agenda is the only thing that coming out from that developer. Sucker Punch is my next Naughty Dog.
@Zackeroniii
Looool.... ummm if you're confirming you that you accidentally replied to my reply using your Alt account then 100000000% you're biggest weirdo in this thread!! 😂😂😂 28514;
The Last of Us3 Ellie is still the cure to the cordyceps infection, but it revealed that its Ellie who has to bite the infected. In doing so anyone infected but bitten by Ellie start to regress to their normal human self.
The earlier she bites an infected the more they are cured. So a runner is fully cured but a stalker will only regress to a runner. Soon the Fireflies are informed and they renew their attempts to harvest a serum of Ellie in hopes her saliva the key and an antidote could be manufactured. Bloaters would need five injections of the serum.
There still needs to be a new antagonist who likes the world the way it is and stops at nothing to prevent a cure being made by going after Ellie and attacking any Fireflies they cross paths with.
Ofc this is all bs, but what if...
I hope they go for a new IP entirely. Dont just want a prettier last of us or uncharted.
I welcome it Druckman. I imagine the surprises tie to an upgrade for TLOU2, Factions 2.0, and maybe the new Ip. And boy have the rumors been all over the place. I think that it was pretty odd to have Dragon Slayer art claimed to be intended to be fan art for ACV. Then you have rumors tied to it being a sci-fi ip.
But I have been theorizing what it could be. What if it's the Time Splitters like premise, being heavily tied to time travel? So you may have scenarios being tied to Medieval fantasy eras or Sci-Fi era time periods. Of course with a mature, dark twist. And gimme that gore from TLOU2 for dark fantasy and sci-fi. Make me feel uncomfortable.
Hopefully they still have the same quality after so many leads and veterans leaving the studio during TLOU2 development
@DarthMarvin
Evidently not, since Naughty Dog’s most successful games were not written by her.
I say that as a massive fan of Hennig’s and whose favorite Naughty Dog game was mostly down to her writing (Drake’s Fortune).
Though the article is both informative and heavily repetitive and drawn out, it stresses the ‘non-leads’ that have left. More importantly, Naughty Dog addressed this in more recent interviews...

I’m not too worried it, particularly with Druckmann’s promotion and his tackling of this critical issue.
Wow, you are one of those sheeps that post a link without even reading it. Tell me where in this article does it say so many leads and veterans leaving the studio during TLOU 2 development?
This is literally the quote from the article:
Of the 20 non-lead designers in the credits of 2016’s Uncharted 4, a whopping 14—70 percent—are no longer at the studio. Since you are obviously not smart enough to understand, let me break it down, since 2016, a team of 20 non-lead designers lost about 14-70% of its members. Basically between 2016-2020, between 3-14 people out of 20 left the company.
Honest question, why do you feel the need to lie? Then post a link you obviously didn't even read? Can't wait to read your response to this lie you just told.
You guys keep repeating the lies dont you? Whats wrong with you people??
I think it's the only way they can deal with reality. It's actually getting sad seeing them openly keeping to the same lie over and over again.
It better be TLOU2's multiplayer Factions with 60FPS and ray tracing gameplay in the campaign with extra modes for PS5.
“Several”. So I’m guessing a last of us 2 ps5 version, last of us multiplayer, and a new IP?
They are my favorites. I’m really excited for what they might have in store for PS5
Overall I enjoyed TLOU2, but I didn't enjoy the story and how it was told as much as I did with TLOU1.
I honestly never thought once about the game being "woke". Had nothing to do with why I liked it less.
The way they told the story with constantly jumping back and forth in the timeline ruined a lot of the surprises when it came to key story events. Not a good move. And the ending was just flat out weird and somewhat illogical when taking the characters journey into consideration. Just wasn't really believable to me.
I would be perfectly fine with just having TLOU1. For me it was close to a perfect story told in a post-apocalyptic "zombie" world. I also feel they're a bit late with making in a tv series. It would have made more sense to build on the story after the first one for the tv format. Now that feels punctured given that we know the fate of some characters already.
I agree, the frequent jumping in time does not do it for me. In the first game you grow together but in 2 it's more like you're just checking in on everyone.
I really didn't get into ND until the PS3 & PS4 era with the Uncharted series & TLOU which I enjoyed. Hopefully they're doing something new/original & interesting.
Same here. I didnt even play an Uncharted game until after the 3rd was released, now ND are one of my favourite Devs. I'm hoping for something completely new and dont really care for the MP aspect of any of their current games if i'm being honest.
Something sci-fi would be good.
I really enjoyed the multiplayer for TLOU1. It was a sleeper hit that deserved to be more fleshed out.
So I am really interested to see how fleshed out the standalone multiplayer will be for TLOU2. Sony barely got exclusive multiplayer games, and even fewer of them are good. Their strength is their story games like Uncharted, The Last of Us, Spider-Man, God of War etc.
When it comes to Naughty Dog I really hope they make something new next time. I wouldn't be mad if they made another Uncharted, I love those games. But it would be nice if Naughty Dog could do something sci-fi with RPG elements, while sticking to a very cinematic experience as they're know for.
I had some fun in MP TLOU but going back later was only highly skilled players. With no skill based matchmaking it was just wildly frustrating.
My hope is some experimenting with a smaller scale new IP. I'd really like to see them bring their sauce to different kinds of games.
Imagine what eye candy they have in store for us this gen, I cannot wait...but I'll have to.
..... What happened to a silent Naughty Dog? They used to stay well hidden until there was something to show. I swear, Neil Druckmans the worst Co-President in ND history. What do you wanna best Anthony Newmans next in line. Eh, bring back Balestra. Things seemed far more balanced, made more sense, and overall just ran better when it was he and Evans Wells. Bruce Straley wouldve easily been a much better alternative but, he never stuck around. Eh, I hate what Naughty Dogs become.....
Every studio has things they can’t wait to share lol. What’s this captain obvious shit for exactly? For the comment section to speculate on things that probably aren’t going to happen lol
i hope it has nothing to do with TLOU or Uncharted. Uncharted was great. But leave it alone. its done. in a good way. TLOU was never a fun game(IMO), so i really don't want to see the talent wasted like that.
I am definitely interested but I don’t care for teases of teases just give a small taste at least!!
I would love a remaster Uncharted 2 & 3 Multiplayer/Co Op which never made it into the BluePoint Games release apparently which is ridiculous.
I'd prefer them to do a new IP also.
Nice! I wonder if her character will appear in the E3 2017 trailer, since they're revealing this now.
Doesn't look like anything to me
Oh, she's the nerd chick that *spoilers* died.
