You know how good an open world game set in Hogwarts could be. Not just the many levels and rooms of Hogwarts it's self but also the surrounding area.

I mean a small hub like Diagon Alley could be the start point where you basically create your character and the choices you make here would at least give you a hint to what will put you in one of the four houses when you visit the sorting hat.

I like this. I'd add to it have it take place maybe ten years after the end of the novels that way it's an open for a new story, you won't have to directly deal with any characters (or their kids) from the books except mentions of Hermione as the Minister or Neville as a Professor but everyone else is basically lore and you can focus on new characters.

They'd have to set it after Harry's son graduates from the school because you don't want the plot to be distracted by the son of Harry Potter or even the children of other characters.

I wouldnt mind proper book games adding in more stuff from the books not in the movies but keep the movie likeness so in other words base the games on the books but look like the movies the best of both worlds

They are horrible now but back then the the first three movie games were awesome . Goblet of fire was decent but 5 and up were trash, and they turned 6 and 7 to a cover shooter:/

Damn, just make an actual game set in universe. I don't know why they think that only following the books makes a thrilling game, I want to make a character, be found, go to Hogwarts, be part of a giant adventure that isn't about Voldemort etc. I think they forget sometimes that they have this giant world that they could expand on (with JKR approval obv.) Take us to Durmstrang, Beaubaxtons, different continents, forests and ancient civilations etc. As flawed as it is in parts, imagine a fantasy ME:A with spells instead of skills, going on quests, MoM as the Nexus/Citadel, hunting for potions ingredients etc.

Not just going to class as Harry, learning to cast frigging Wingardium Leviosa again. A Fantasy epic set in the near future where you literally save the magical world, get an AAA team together, fund it properly, and make an actual good game in HP world and not just HP again that happens to be a game. Yes, I'm salty that I haven't gotten to vicariously live out a wizarding life :/

If done right that could be awesome. Right now my ideal game would be something like Halo/ODST crossed with Star Wars Galaxies/Destiny. An MMORPG FPS, where you start off as an ODST, run missions and raids on different planets, then eventually after reaching a certain level you get a chance to become a Spartan (like becoming a Jedi in Galaxies). The path isn't the same for everyone and it's not easy. Then once you become a Spartan the game dramatically changes with new abilities.
