Mass Effect Andromeda’s Craziest Bug Has Been Fixed, Bioware Thanks Fans For Critique And Praise

Mass Effect Andromeda is, sadly, a rather buggy game. To Bioware's credits, it is hunting down all of these bugs and trying to bring the game back up to its usual standard of polish that it is known for.

in other words, if you want the game just buy it 6 to 12 months later after all the bugs are out.

InKnight7s2577d ago

Yeah its become base thing in EA and Ubisoft games. You must wait half a year to got playable downgraded game, or a year with all DLCs.

NovusTerminus2577d ago (Edited 2577d ago )

Because we all know how great GTA and Bethesda games run at launch.

I went through entire cutscenes in GTAV with characters not it showing up on screen.

But those companies get a free pass, right?

bloop2577d ago

Novus, I've been sitting here for the last 5 minutes trying to think of all the bugs I've come across in the GTA games and I honestly cannot think of one.

KillZallthebeast2577d ago

I'm with bloop on this I played the launch ps3 and launch ps4 versions and I honestly don't recall any glitches I came across in gta5. I am sure they were there but I personally didn't see them.

thekhurg2577d ago

I've got 20 hours in it and have been having fun. So in other words, if you like Mass Effect just go ahead and buy it because it's still a ME game with that same ME feel. If you play the Internet instead of games then don't buy it cause you'll be disappointed.

TankCrossing2577d ago

People that 'play the internet' don't get disappointed. They get angry.

Allsystemgamer2577d ago

Im a mass effect fan and I didn't have fun. It LOOKS like mass effect. It FEELS like a cheap indie knock off.

Retard2577d ago

does make me wonder how the QA staff wrote their statements.

yeahokwhatever2577d ago (Edited 2577d ago )

They're called "defects" not statements. Also, I'm 100% sure every single bug encountered by players was already reported. There's likely thousands of bugs just sitting in the DB waiting to be prioritized by the product team. How to they prioritize them you ask? A mix of customer complaint numbers, severity, and frequency of occurrence. You'd be SHOCKED to see how many bugs(defects) get "waved" for the release. There's simply too many advertising dollars at stake to postpone things sometimes.

Soc52577d ago

Yup! They should create a thing, instead of pre-orders, we can call it post-orders. You get the game delivered 6 months after it's release.

Ristul2577d ago

Maybe they can release Mass Effect Andromeda "The glitch free edition" in a year or so.

Gatsu2577d ago

Like they did with Bethesda and Ubisoft games.

yeahokwhatever2577d ago

Agree. It upsets me how often Bethesda gets a free pass. Remember when moving an object broke the game for PS3 users for Skyrim?

mogwaii2576d ago

It'll still be a shadow of its former self.

mogwaii2577d ago

I wonder if they'll ever make another mass effect and if they will learn from this mistake.

thekhurg2577d ago

What mistake? Having animation glitches? No game has ever released bug free...

OldGuyStillGaming2577d ago

Nintendo games are damn near flawless when they launch

Goldby2577d ago

@thekurg.

i hopefully hope they are talking about the algorithms used to make the animations, it would be better if they went back to the basics, looked over Mass Effect and actual notice what was so great about that game. the Voice over work is better at times than others, and they need to actually make the dialogue options represent what the character will actually say.

LamerTamer2577d ago (Edited 2577d ago )

But it is getting worse and worse. The internet has now become a crutch to release before ready and fix later. It is like they don't even try anymore. In the past they used to at least make an attempt to release a complete working game. There were a few bugs and would maybe get a small patch or two. Now you basically download the entire game again, even if you buy a physical copy. It is getting to the point where everything is download only with the disc being a pre-release demo, whether you like it or not.

yeahokwhatever2577d ago

This was my first Mass Effect experience. I will not be buying a Mass Effect title ever again. Its completely full of bugs, bad dialogue(not the animations, the dialogue itself was written by children), nonsensical story elements, bad characters, bad planets. Its like No Mans Sky, without any of the fun.

Lol

I'm not sure you realize this or not but the game is still selling fantastically, it was number one on the UK charts.

When the original Mass Effect team takes over I'm sure it's not going to be the same situation.

PlayableGamez-2577d ago

I guess I am still narrowed-minded for not paying 60 dollars for a buggy game? Right? lmao

_-EDMIX-_2577d ago

@Play- ? huh?

Where did I say that?

Buddy...I'm not saying you are narrow-minded for not spending your own money, that is your money friend.

Why did you reply here on something that was stated a day ago?

"People shouldn't either" That is what my issue was. You can spend your money where you feel just, more power to you, not knocking that even in the slightest.

My issues is you saying "People shouldn't either" based on YOUR VIEW.

So when you say

"Yeah nobody dictates what I play... " Your are 100% correct, I agree with you all the way, but this "People shouldn't either" is uncalled for.

You don't like someone trying to dictate what you play or where you spend your money? Why did you in that same post just try to dictate what folks should or shouldn't do with theirs?

http://n4g.com/news/2039407...

My post was not calling you narrow-minded for not paying for this game, it was based on saying "People shouldn't either".

I respect your view for not buying it, its up to you, I only ask that you respect those that choose to buy it. I don't understand a person that is upset about someone trying to dictate what they buy and then advise others one what they should do with their money in the same post.

btw. I don't even own Mass Effect Andromeda.

yeahright22577d ago

That's true, but situations like this don't always have their biggest impact at launch, but rather, post launch. Once word spreads of how bad the game is with bugs and glitches, sales drop as people decide to wait for patches, sales and GOTY editions. And at that point, a $60 purchase with the potential of dlc purchases down the line becomes a $40ish purchase, or a GOTY purchase with all dlc included.

Gatsu2577d ago

No one complained like this of all the other games having similar issues. Why?

_-EDMIX-_2577d ago

Well people love the Mass Effect IP. If it was always a trash series you wouldn't see this type of vocal reaction. They expect better and they don't like their favorite IP being subpar.

Can't really blame them.

I'd say clearly other folks have complained about games with lots of issues sure, but I can't really argue about "like this" as I don't know to what degree this really is in terms of complaining.

I mean.....its pretty high though, like an article is talking about it like everyday.

Turned based Phantasy Star and Shinning Force remain at the top of my list of Sega IPs that need to return. At the very least I'd take a Shining Force collection that has 1,2,3, CD and the Game Gear entries.

FinalBoss4d ago

I was hesitant to put these two on. I've personally played more PSO than the RPG version. And shame on me, I don't remember much about Shining Force to talk about it properly.

That said, so many Sega licences deserve their place in this list.

jznrpg1d 23h ago

A new Phantasy Star in the numbered series would be amazing. Shining Force too. But I’d settle on some collections as that’s probably the best we will get

anast3d ago

I don't trust Sega to do a proper comeback. The games will be just remastered and/or monetized to death.

gold_drake3d ago

shining force.

but indont see that happening unfortunately.
