I'm seeing a lot of 9s .... sweet

UltraNova2676d ago

Another must play game...how is it possible to keep up....

RpgSama2676d ago

Another day, another 9+ game for Ps4, this is getting crazy right now, no wallet is able to keep up with this, never has a year started better for gamers than 2017, it's just incredible.

Unspoken2676d ago (Edited 2676d ago )

Does it have the option for no subs? English voice overs are very cringy. How about co op and multiplayer? Please tell me this is not another single player experience...

Controls and camera angels are crap and it's a pain to execute movements and actions at times. Sounds like a 10 score to me. 9 is too low. At least its a step in the right direction for JRPGs.

Relientk772676d ago

Damn this game sounds so epic

Eonjay2676d ago

Its like something for everyone. if you lost track of all the highly reviewed PS games... don't feel bad, we all did.

Not a fan of this series as I suck at turn based combat but I do know this many gamers have been waiting for this next persona game

Ps4 has been on an epic roll

I may rent it to give it a try is there a easy difficulty option? And any suggestions for new comers to the series

IraqCombatVet2676d ago

You can switch difficulty levels. And the turn based system is much more streamlined than any other turn based system before it so you should have no problem with it.

I think you'll enjoy the game a lot. I used to be skeptical about these type of games until I played Persona 3. Then when I played Persona 4 Golden it shattered my entire world. Persona is absolutely incredible. Definitely give it a rent and you'll see what I'm talking about.

DaFeelz2676d ago

Yeah, I want to give this a go too but it would be my 1st foray in the turn based world. Any pros here to help us newbies out? Wanna see what all the fuss is about

Turn base is very easy to figure out. I'd argue the concept is made to be user friendly.

You can take your time to really look at set ups, make changes in turns to fix your situation. You never feel like you need to be an expert, you have all the time to really analyse and think situations through.

I'd recommend other turned based games like I Am Setsuna for first time Turned Based RPG games as its pretty easy to get, if you can spend like 5 or 6 bucks on another older turned based game to see if you like the concept, I'd recommend that even.

Who knows, you may not like the concept and I can't really say spend $60 on something you might not really like or care for after a while.

_-EDMIX-_2676d ago

I don't know if I could recommend it.

Seriously.

"Not a fan of this series as I suck at turn based combat"

That is kinda the best part about this series. I love turned based games and just LOVE the Persona series. If I like it because of that, I don't know if you'll like it be the honest. The series has great side stories, great main stories, cool meta games that really build the narrative (ie jobs, school work, dating etc), but at the end of the day, you are playing the combat for the biggest chunk of theses games.

I'm sure we talked about this before, but I don't know if I can really say buy this if you don't like turned based.

Honestly, I'm trying to be as objective and unbias as possible right now. I love the series and its day 1 for me, but that is why I'm telling you it might not work out for you really don't care for the turned based.

DaFeelz2676d ago (Edited 2676d ago )

Thanks for the reply. I might do it. I've found that playing games outside my normal genres have landed me some gems that I wouldn't have known otherwise. Dragons Dogma and Project X Zone come to mind. I'll check out some gameplay videos on YouTube before I make the jump. But hearing from people who love the genre, helps far more than just seeing it being played on screen. To understand what people love about something, will help me understand what it is I'm trying to adopt and learn to love myself. Thanks again! I just might do it.

Can't wait to get my hands on this.

Sea of stars while seeming pretty good so far doesn't belong in the top rpg discussion. There's way better ones. I'd tell them to play star ocean 2. One of the best non turn based rpgs ever. It has everything.

raWfodog220d ago

And if the list is limited to just turn-based RPGs, I can think of better ones to add to this list. You have the Dragon Quest series, the Trails series…Persona 5 Royale is on the list but why limit it to just that one? P3 and P4 were great as well.

The Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legaia, or the Shadow Hearts games has decent enjoyable turn based combat system.
