GamesRadar writes: "Metal Slug 7 marks a handful of firsts for the 12-year-old 2D action series: It's the first Metal Slug without an arcade release, and the first on the DS. But don't expect a stylus-driven touch-screen-based reboot of the franchise at all. From what we've played, this is a traditional Metal Slug experience through and through: gore-tastic 2D graphics, giant screen-filling bosses and plenty of things that go boom.
There are six characters to take through the game's seven stages: the sharpshooter, the gearhead, the ballistics expert and the girl-with-a-ton-of-grenades are all returning archetypes. Clark and Ralf, whom you might remember from the King of Fighters series, are also in attendance here. Clark can toss enemies in the air for instant kills and bonus points, while Ralf has a special punch that can take out groups of enemies in a single blow, but leaves him open if he misses."

It's Metal Slug. Nothing more, nothing less. Fans will love it but everyone else should track down the recent Wii anthology.
Garou: Mark of the Wolves comes out on Xbox Live Arcade this summer. Garou was announced with a slew of other SNK developed XBLA games like The King of Fighters: Sky Stage, which doesn't even have a release date.
Metal Slug 7 was previously announced as an Xbox Live Arcade game, but it was missing from the list. So, "Spencer" from siliconera.com inquired about it. Robert Macchiaverna, Acquisitions Manager at Ignition Entertainment, explained "It is still happening, but I believe that's scheduled to be a 2010 title." Ignition published Metal Slug 7 on the DS (pictured) in North America and has a close relationship with SNK. "Ultimate Match ['98] is coming out this year, but Metal Slug is not," Macchiaverna continued.
Just one more year. Maybe a two-thirds of year until co-op Slug Gigant action.
this game was a blast i still wonder why they didn't add wifi and multiplayer
if the 360 version had multiplayer i would consider buying it again
only problem is the length though kinda short
price as well
