Why For Honor's $732 of unlockables are a good thing

There’s a trending article claiming “$732 or 2.5 years of play time” to unlock everything in For Honor. This claim neglects to mention that while it costs 91,500 steel to unlock every cosmeti c for a Hero, it only costs 500 to unlock said Hero. The original article this references is overgeneralizing how modern games operate now. How many people unlocked every single cosmetic in Halo 5, Blops 3, Overwatch, etc.? The cosmetics are designed to keep players motivated to keep playing. The biggest difference with FH and the rest of those games however is the cosmetics aren't tied to loot boxes, so instead they have this ridiculous grind in place of it. It's identical to every other game on the market right now except it reverses the accepted practice of opening boxes for fluff and instead gear.

No they are designed to get you to say screw it and spend money.

That's what the other games do too, except you'd be paying smaller amounts for more rolls at items. Whereas here its paying higher amounts for the direct item. You are also acting as if the cosmetics are required to enjoy the game, when they are actually just there to give a reason to keep playing without causing people to cry P2W (which people did anyway)
