UGO: Lego Batman: The Videogame Review

UGO writes: "Before this week, developer Traveller's Tales had released a total of four Lego games which covered only two licenses: Star Wars and Indiana Jones. It is with some relief then that we greet the arrival of Lego Batman: The Videogame. Not only does the game feature improvements over the late-Spring disappointment that was Lego Indiana Jones, it also finally takes on a license which wasn't created by George Lucas. While Lego Batman: The Videogame still falls short in many ways to the superior Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, TT gets high praise at least for doing justice to the license.

The basic format of running players through episodic chapters featuring set characters for each story-based level remains the same in Lego Batman, though things have obviously been tweaked to account for the fact that none of the game narratives are directly adapted from any source. Rather, the three main episodes and their companion "dark sides" (more on that in a moment) feature an amalgamation of Batman tropes pulled from the various mediums the Caped Crusader has appeared in: film, comics, TV and so on. In the three Batman-centric episodes, players foil the plans of Gotham City's most well-known villains and their lesser-known cronies."

I only need 3 from that list, so I'm not sure if I will bother buying this bundle. I may have a look on Steam Trades and see if anybody is trading the 3 I need.

Good deal for Lego games. These rarely go on sale. Plus Steam!
