Has the casual gaming boom destroyed hardcore's relevance?
simply for me as a core a gamer,I'll never play casual stuff and vice-versa but,am really afraid that casual market become bigger and bigger with time so,sony and ms will join? hope not
Sony and MS are already joining. Sony cancelled 8 days and Getaway in order to bring us eyepet. Microsoft have not announced really many games for next year but they are bringing us Lips.
played casual games? liar liar ape on fire. Never played tetris? Anyway, Core gaming won't disappear, there is money in that too.
the moon just the sun at night???
Q: What's the difference between core and casual gamers? A: Casual gamers know what sex feels like. *rimshot* Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week! Try the veal! p.s. I'm a core-sual gamer. I play hardcore games casually. I get sex AND gaming, the best of both worlds!
"A little harsh, in reality, considering some of its biggest successes this year, such as Super Mario Sunshine and Twilight Princess." 'Sunshine' huh? The Gamecube has more longevity than we imagined. lol
lol he does say super mario sunshine hahah thats funny. No proof reading necessary. btw is that really you in your avatar tacki?
I think they can co-exist.
They have co-existed for a long time now. Core gaming is just as important as it was for the NES and casual gaming is just as important as it was for the NES as well. I'm pretty sure if asked one could make a list of some 50 games coming out in the next 12 months that'll be considered hardcore games and someone could make a list of 50 casual games coming out in the same time period. Gaming is gaming and both are required to make the industry work
PS1 the march of Casual gamers. "geeks" and "nerds" suddenly weren't the only gamers anymore. The cool kids suddenly thought that Gaming was cool too. Hell PS1 was the first Successful console to Co-exist with "casual" gamers. There was so much casual crap on it, and it wasn't only bought by the "avid" gamer. We are at that point again where a console has massive appeal. And People feel insecure that things will change. Yeah things will change but for the better, you will have your core games. You are one of the Target audiences.
There are hardly any core gamers online so no one cares. The hardcore are hardly good at gaming or know what tech drives these boxes. There is way more football fanatics here than gaming talk. Clint Hocking replied, "Who knows, but we’re halfway there to nobody gives a sh!t."
