Maybe it's a hostile creature and you're assuming it SHOULD be non-hostile? I don't recall seeing a banner proclaiming 'Non-hostile' at any point in the game so tell me again how you know which mobs are hostile and which aren't?

In the beginning, BattleEye was having issues so yes, there were cheaters. It's recently been fixed. Can't tell you if it's better or not yet.
