"we sat down with creative director Shaun Escayg and game director Kurt Margenau. Learn what held Naughty Dog back from creating more large, open spaces in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and why they're excited about creating new, bold setpieces for players."

Yes! I was hoping some of the underdogs got a chance to direct. Great fucking news! Uncharted is back baby!

Can't wait for this although it'll be bittersweet that it's the last new uncharted story for the foreseeable future...

Hopefully it doesn't have the terrible pacing that Uncharted 4 had. That was the biggest letdown for me this entire gen probably. A lot of people loved it, I thought it lacked set pieces that the series is known for, there wasn't nearly enough gun battles/action sequences, there was entirely too much platforming that wasn't fun, there were forced sections like the flashback chapters with Nates brother when both were younger, those were a major chore for me personally. I found nothing charming or interesting about them. They just felt so forced. The ending was pretty terrible as well as the final battle. Uncharted 2 is still the best and Uncharted 1 still plays great. After that, they started to lose what made them fun. They went way too much for a cinematic approach and it totally screwed up the pacing. I will probably skip this unless proven otherwise.

Welp, you had pretty much the opposite reaction as nearly everyone else did.

That's not true. Go to amazon and read some of the customer reviews that rated the game a 3/5. Most share the same exact points of criticism. And I'm not talking about the one star troll reviews. Plenty long time fans had issues with the pacing as well.

For me it comes down to what you like most about Uncharted, for me it's always been the characters and their interactions, in that sense Uncharted 4 was my favourite it had the most slow moments where I got to spend time with characters instead of in shoot outs, and it didn't have that many set pieces I agree but the small ones they had were more than enough and didn't feel forced atleast. In terms of an ending to a series in my eyes it was perfect the whole 3rd act was my favourite in the entire series.

There are parts I like, but many more that I just felt were a drag. Compared to Uncharted 2, Uncharted 4 is a letdown. Uncharted 2 nailed everything, set pieces, characters, pacing, dialogue, twists, ending, graphics, audio, gunplay,puzzles....everything was perfect. I can't see how someone can objectively look at Uncharted 4 and say it's better than Uncharted 2. And like I said, I even enjoyed the original Uncharted more than Uncharted 4, it's missing that "fun factor" for me.

Agree! Uncharted 1 and 2 had the best gameplay! Two of my favorite games of all time! Uncharted 4 had the best graphics. Uncharted 3...well, U3 had the Ship graveyard level, thought that was brilliant. :p
