Putting in an update where something you are downloading doesn't stop when playing a game. It annoys me when I play a game and it pauses my download.

The downloads only stop if you're playing online. Sadly, a lot of games now connect to servers even during solo play.

I just want voice chat and chat rooms any time you play the game, custom music for every game, and auto install and shut down for download. Everything else seems good enough for me.

1.Improve card/flash read speed, it's ridiculous how long I have to wait to see my files. As well as somehow make file organization pc like.
2.Browser overhaul, it's slow, buggy and plain annoying.
3.Not exactly a fw upgrade, but give the EU a decent psn store and expand credit card countries.
4.Change back- by clicking on the user to show/create messages instead of gamercard.
5.Sleep timer and on timer.
6.Charge peripherals on standy.
7.Cross game voice chat or atleast a voice chat without the need to sit only in the char room.

Thats about it, can't thing of anything more at 4:40am :/

all are good but the credit card thing is the BEST! I bought my PS3 in AUS last year as I was studying there and now I'm back to my home land Malaysia! it sucks because I can't even put my own address in my profile and it sucks even more where I can't even use my credit card for PSN! it's not like the PSN card are available everywhere now and I really want to buy stuff from PSN! damn sony, act fast on this!!

it already came a long way since FW 1.00! I believe the PS3 is capable of a lot more compared to its little step brother! only time will tell how far the current PS3 hardware is updatable without the need of a redesign! like the PSP1000 already are missing some portion of FW updates since the FW3.60 due to hardware difference with PSP2000! I hope current PS3 will last for many more updates before the need of 'revised' version which will eventually come sometime in the future!

yeah, the PSP has gone a long way- i was checking out my friends PSP(dosent have broadband, so cant be stuffed Dling FW updates) its so bare, i dont even think you could even set wallpapers.

I just ran a Game which has a Fw update in it anyway.

Sony will always have thinks to stabilize and we (gaming community) will always ask for new functions, so yes, we'll se tons of news like it after big updates.

There is always room for improving... Think about it as jell-o! :)

A offical PS3 forum where you sign in your PSN ID and use it on your ps3 not via browser, but like the PS store would be pretty cool. but i guess you could always use PS3forums.com or something like that. actually home is comming out anyway, dont really need a forum in that case.

1. Allow local use of the PS3 while PSP clients are connected using remote play.

2. Home to PSP connectivity. Allow users that have a PS3 and PSP use their physical PSP the same way the virtual PSP works.

And this one is not really firmware related, but...

3. More PS3 games utilizing the PSP if available.

Sony has the advantage of having a powerful handheld, and home console combination. Playing Lair over Remote Play got me thinking of the cool unique things you can do with that combination.

Nintendo has not even capitalized on this yet. There were only a handful of GameCube games that took advantage of the GBA link cable, and I'm not aware of any Wii games connecting with the DS.
