Princess Zelda’s Voice Actor Has Been Revealed In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

The voice actor behind Princess Zelda has been revealed in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the first main Zelda title that features voice acting. Her name is Patricia Summersett, who’s known for her voicework in a number of other video game series – including Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow Six and For Honor. Still feels off and wrong having a English voice acted Zelda game, i want Hylian dammit.

nitus103016d ago (Edited 3016d ago )

I have not played the game so I cannot comment on her voice acting.

I have watched Anime and can understand a few words of Japanese although I predominately rely on good subbing. What is interesting is when that same Anime is dubbed into English. Sometimes the dubbing is excellent in that the voice acting is on par with the Japanese voice acting which makes watching and listening to me a pleasure and at other times the dubbing is so cringeworthy or not in keeping with what the original Japanese tonal voicing was (eg. gravel voice, whining voice, soft/loud/strong voice) that I actually switch back to the original Japanese with subbing.

Of course, all of what I have said is subjective but if you, as an English speaker are listening to a game, movie or play the overall impact of the show on you, will be the voice acting and how closely that type of voice fits the character. This equally applies to whatever language the character is actually speaking, tone and emphasis are essential in getting across information to a person who is watching.

I didnt realise they had voice actors. I thought everyone in Hyrule was a mute.

They just included voice actors in this entry but to me it feels out of place. Not because the series doesn't have potential for incredibly voiced sections, but the fact that what is there is hit or miss.

I disliked her voice. When ever she'd speak I was telling her to shut up. It was a whining, weak as, hallow emotionless voice.

Even when she argues with her father about her training. She was a push over mouse arguing against a giant.

It was just a boring mess.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild (Switch 2)- The Best Way To Play, But Zelda Notes Sucks| NL

"

Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is undoubtedly the best way to play one of the greatest games of all time. The visual and performance enhancements remove any issues that you may have had to endure with the original game. It's practically flawless from that perspective.

Sadly, the Zelda Notes app really brings the whole thing down. Useful features that should have been implemented in-game have been relegated to your smartphone, and using it completely breaks immersion in this incredible world. I'm only thankful that it's not even remotely mandatory. Leave Zelda Notes to one side, and you've got the definitive presentation of a modern classic." - Ollie Reynolds | NintendoLife
