I personally think people view a vast majority of Nintendo games with some extremely rose tinted glasses... None the less, I am sure it is another quality Zelda game! Mario at the end of the year, Smash Bros next year, and then its see you in another 3-4 years next console generation from Nintendo.

After I played Skyward Sword, I questioned how Nintendo would ever be able to make another Zelda with traditional controls. The game had problems with hand holding, but its brilliance shown through regardless. I absolutely loved it.

I think the game will be fine and hearing from Impressions from journalists some are saying it's one of the best Zelda games that ever released so I would actually ignore skyward Swords review and even this review as we don't really know the type of bias they might have you might have to seriously just play for yourself.

I honestly have no problem with Nintendogs getting a 10. You have to rate the game on its own category, and well, Nintendogs is excellent execution of the Tamagotchi concept. If you see it that way, a perfect score is justified. Of course we wouldn't compare Nintendogs with Uncharted, that's just silly.

The only perfect score I have issue with (from the games I've actually played) is Kid Icarus Uprising. I loved that game, but I can't understand how all 4 reviewers on Famitsu didn't have any issues with its extremely uncomfortable and impractical control scheme. Nintendo even bundled it with a stand for the 3DS for stability, for Christ's sakes! Lol.

Edit: I also see absolutely no problem for perfect scores for Smash Brawl and GTAV. Both were amazing games. Nowadays people look down on Brawl simply because it's a pretty poor game for the competitive scene... but I'm sure Famitsu's reviewers, and the majority of gamers, aren't competitive tourney-level Smash veterans. Lol.

I've never believed anyone who has said that, ever see a comment "Game doesn't look very good!.. Have you played it? Nah I've seen the Videos, don't need to, I know". Even going into The Last Of Us, I was skeptical and I needed to see it for myself.

Quoting a game is a "masterpiece" and above all other games based on videos... is just blatant, blind, fanboy behavior. Also saying that "And I'm right as well" is just super arrogant and the reason why it's so so hard to have decent discussions with people on gaming websites. It's this dumb console war and this "Us versus Them mentality."

Maybe just maybe if it gets average scores it really isnt a Zelda of the ages. Maybe just maybe it means that when i play it those views sync with mine and i personally think the same Theres always a flipside. I subjectively can think its the best thing on earth but if the reviews tend to be average there is a higher probability there is a reason it did so and that i think its average too.

Luckily Zelda seems to be knocking it out the park in previews and reviews.

Im not putting Zelda down im sure its a great game, but famitsu is biased towards Zelda look at there list of games they gave perfect scores to, They literally give every Zelda a perfect 10. I like Zelda but not every one is a perfect 10 game.

According to Wikipedia they have given a perfect score to: Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, and Breath of the Wild

That still leaves out Twilight Princess, A Link Between Worlds, Spirit Tracks, Triforce Heroes, Adventure of Link, Majora's Mask, Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons, Four Swords Adventures, Minish Cap, Hyrule Warriors, and all the re-releases. Their average for the entire series is roughly a 35/40.

'Coming soon' is a very abstract definition and no clear release window, sorry. I'm actually thinking if I should buy one, because of the new Zelda, Xenoblade 2 (I forgot about that), Mario Odyssey ecc., I'm not 'trolling', because I'm sceptical. I'm very sceptical towards any game or console, but if the game or console reveals itself better than I first thought, I consider a purchase. I'm waiting for the review embargo of TLoZ: Breath of the Wild, if the game will have excellent scores and a Meta of 90 or above I'll buy it (although I'll have to sell some of my old stuff for the 300 dollars purchase), no matter if the Switch lacks other good games at launch, but the game has to be really outstanding, that's why I'm waiting for the review embargo. The only one who is trying to troll me, is you ... but you don't know that you're only 'trolling' yourself with such commentaries.

Nintendo has been very clear with the release window for most of their games. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be out in April, but that's a rerelease. This Spring will see ARMs, Splatoon 2 will be hitting in the summer, Fire Emblem Warriors in the Fall, and Mario Odyssey during the Holidays. They're very clearly trying to spread their release schedule out to avoid gaps like what was seen with the Wii U.

he is right about you being a troll, no one buys a system for one game we buy it for everything it brings in the future, ps4, xbox one had ports from 360 and ps3, even the Wii U when it had black ops, splinter cell, assassin creed black flag......so no need to upgrade at that time, we could of all buy those same games on ps3 and 360, but we didnt, instead we got ps4 or xbox one because we know more games will come in the future.......so seeing you write about one game just shows you a troll, even if you are getting the Switch or not

Why am I a troll if I spend 300 dollars of my hard-earned money (I even want to sell old stuff of mine to afford one if the new Zelda will get an excellent meta). I never talked about Mario Kart 8, while the game might be good, you're talking about a remake and not a new title at all. The release windows are a little bit vague (spring, summer, fall), we don't know the exact month yet and some games might get delayed (I hope not). The 10th Rider and Gemmol, most games you've listed don't interest me at all, a game has to suit my taste a little bit in order to consider a purchase for me, just because Nintendo or others think all those games that you've listed are liked by everyone, doesn't mean that I'll have buy them too.

I would gladly save my money if the future of a console wouldn't hold enough titles I'm interested in, believe me. First I criticized the Switch for not offering enough games I'm interested in for the next months, while I had Zelda and Mario (franchises I'm interested in) in mind, I forgot about Xenoblade 2 (already 3 big titles I'm interested in). That's when I started considering to purchase the Switch, seeing the first perfect scores for the new Zelda pushed the desire a little bit further, you know?

You could technically buy it, play it, and sell the Game + Console for ~10-15% reduction (if you sell it soon after launch) so you technically spend $360 but recoup ~$320.

Famitsu does give out some high marks for games that honestly didn't live up to the score. Not taking away from Zelda at all, cause the game looks damn good, but FF XIII-2 was no 10 and I love the trilogy. I finally preordered mine yesterday along with my Torment purchase.

No console can be perfect, and even the PS4 didn't get unanimous praise at launch. The lowest score I've seen for the Switch so far is 8/10, with quite a few of them being 9/10 or higher. So overall the media seems to have a pretty positive view of it.

There's a 5/10 from wired on the front page of this site for the console. A lot of reviewers who got the console early reported that the joy controllers wouldn't stay in sync when the system was docked. This is from another article listed on this site a few days ago.

Never doubted Nintendo for a second. The legend of Zelda has always been one of their most consistent franchises. Cant wait to get my copy, wont be able to touch it until i finish the other amazing game that just came out, Horizon.

I like your use of "one of" there. The mainline Super Mario Games (64/Sunshine/Galaxy/Galaxy 2/3D World/Super Mario Odyssey) is possibly the most consistent franchise in gaming. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Zelda at least tie with other games this gen for the highest rated game of the gen (93/100), but I fully expect Mario to top that when it lands. Galaxy and Galaxy 2 are two of the highest rated games on Metacritic and 3D World is one of the highest rated games this gen already.

Some reviewers are in a dilemma here. I, of course, am talking about the klutzes that actually awarded the mightily flawed Skyward Sword a 10/10 over 5 years ago.
What are they going to do when they score this new Zelda game, one that is most likely going to be better than, arguably, the worst main series Zelda game ever?
Can they give Breath of the Wild a 15/10 score? How does Eurogamer give it more than an "Essential" grade when Skyward Sword was a perfect 10?

At the time, I'd say it was pretty fantastic. However, in retrospect it just doesn't hold up nearly as well. I recently played Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD through and Wind Waker is worlds better. I think people were just ready for a Twilight Princess like Zelda after the release of Wind Waker and it gave people almost exactly what they wanted. In contrast, Skyward Sword was a great game that got reviewed well, but never really got a lot of attention from people because they were already past the motion controls of the Wii.

Well, then, it was essential, as is "if you like video games and possess a Wii, this is an essential purchase." And it was. It was one of the best games to be released for the console. People downplay some of the strong titles the Wii actually had.

I love Zelda but people put it on a pedestal and are blinded by nostalgia if I had to make a guess. I'm not saying it doesn't deserve amazing scores but if you take the name Zelda off this then I bet it wouldn't be deemed "greatest game ever made". That goes for other franchises too. When I played Shadow of Colossus on the ps2 it was plagued by frame drops and generally low framerates. I'd still give it a 10/10 because it's one of the best games I've ever played.

No game is perfect and I mean no game except to the hand full of people that fall in love with it and even a seasoned player of any game can and will pick out a few flaws or small gripes.

Out of 24 perfect scores from Famitsu it's 4th Zelda. They are biased if it comes to Japanese titles. Honestly, there is hardly any non-Japanese title on the list ;) I agree with some choices but it's definitely biased.
