Really? All I've heard about this Bomberman title (on the Bombcast, ironically enough) has been pretty bad. The thing doesn't even run at a good framerate, which... come on, it's Bomberman, not Crysis.

This is actually true. The PS2 launch was notoriously bad, and as a result we played some meh-level stuff.
Remember Fantavision? My favorite was Kengo, which was like 1/6 Bushido Blade, and hey, there wasn't another one of those, so okay. There were some okay From Software games around launch time, too! They weren't stellar, but they were tough in typical From fashion.

I'm saying this all because I love the Bomberman franchise - even the spinoffs, those GB Color ones were so great. I'd play Jump Mode on Pocket Bomberman all day. I'm all in on getting a Switch, and I really don't want to be let down by this game!

Hi yeah I got this new console and this amazing Tony Hawks 5 is so bad... meaning bad.
Some people misjudged as it may be end Up with poor games as they don't look into things enough. Not to justify the new console. Zelda. Sure everything else can wait. Mario Kart is a Day1 meh games not for me.
Ps2 and any other launch may have bad games... pro tip... don't buy em.
Ps2 launch... timesplitters and possibly a tekken or ridge but I had timesplitters why bother with any other launch dribble when you've got greatness.

Super monkey ball was a great surprise luigis mansion and Rogue Squadron winners... just don't go and buy all the Ubisoft yearly churn multiplatform inferior port shite.

Thats exactly what I am hoping for.
If anyone recalls the frame rate on bomberman 64 could drop tremendously when there were too many explosions.

Yep however it just doesn't warrant that price tag. Bomberman collection ie SNES Classics 1-5 sure for a new bomberman when they've done 2 on XBLA for a fraction of the price. Could buy both and still have over half your money... It's almost like Konami are desperate now Hideo left 😱🖕🏻

Me too I just won't pay £39.99 zelda will see me through I've got PS4 Wii U (yep still! finish off last few games) 3ds and Vita if I get bored not to mention Mario run and Pokemon Go. Zelda should do the trick bomberman once it drops possibly even 1-2 Switch? And Mario Kart is a Day1. Nothing else so far Splatoon maybe but it's all about that new Mario for me.

I bought Bomberman because I'm a fan of the franchise. I don't care that it runs at 30 FPS, or may not be the best looking game. I want it for the fun multiplayer aspect, online play, and simplicity :)

Still not crystal clear on one thing, will there be 4 player battle mode without online as well or is the battle mode purely online/console lan?
Big factor if I buy it or not.
