What the Hell Happened with Q1?

It’s nearing the tail end of February and this year has already been exhausting. With ten months to go, making it out of the onslaught of games releases will be an achievement all its own, don’t forget the trophy.

This year is a fantastic year for all gamers. By the end of Q1, we are going to have 3 GOTY contenders with Persona 5 close behind starting Q2. Wish we had good awards show because Keighley will screw it up again this year like he has done for a few years now :/

Yeah, I've watched them. This years wasn't the best, but the year or two before was pretty solid. A couple or 3 years ago, he could have picked some of the bigger, flashier titles like halo or cod or something , don't remember which year, but I remember being impressed he went against the popular casual opinion and went with the critics choices instead.

Just because they're not good, doesn't mean he isn't trying. He has to add all that unnecessary flashy shit like rappers nobody cares about, youtube personalities, he has to make deals with the deodorant mascot sponsorship devils, because if he didn't, there wouldn't even be vga awards show.

It's either all that flashy shit until people start showing enough interest in the concept to not necessitate that kind of bullshit, or it's no show at all. Because the awards themselves do not draw crowds, because not even a vast majority of actual gamers give a shit about an awards ceremony for games.

And if you don't think it's worth it for him to sully the show with all that bullcrap just to keep it alive, then as I said before, don't watch it, but he's the only reason it's still going, and without him, you'd be getting your awards ceremonies in the form of text articles.

So next week Horizon Zero Dawn on the 1st of March (Live in South Africa) and 2 days after, Botw. At this rate my wife is going to divorce me. I haven't had the time to take her out the entirety of February, been way too busy trying to finish up Nioh, Gravity Rush 2 and Yakuza 0. I guess it's time to stock up on Doritos and Mountain Dew, sleep is overrated.

All I can say, 2017 is looking like a beast of a year for gaming. I feel sorry for all the video game publications/websites that must choose a GotY. I mean for goodness sake man, how dare the powers that be release, Persona 5, RDR2 and BotW in the same year???

I've been trying to push through Gravity Rush and Nioh at the same time. Could do it but Nioh is just so effing LONG. Got Horizon Zero Dawn's collection edition pre-orded and NieR is just too good to pass up as well after I played the demo.

So true, I am about 75% through on Nioh, unfortunately I might have to leave it until i finish up Horizon and Zelda. Since i heard that both games can be completed in a much shorter time than Nioh, which I don't want to rush through. Haven't enjoyed a game this much since Bloodborne.

My wallet is taking a hit this month and next. I'd consider a Switch, but I think I'm spending twice as much on games these two months. On top of that, I just brought 8 cheap games I haven't gotten to yet on Amazon, so I have no clue when I'm going to have time to play them all. Maybe I need to take a few months....or years....off of work.
