MGL: Whilst it’s by no means as polished an experience as Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, Next Order is a fine addition to the Digimon universe. A more fitting installment for those that enjoy raising their digital pets rather than taking them on a traditional turn-based JRPG adventure.
Bandai Namco Switch eShop sale for November 2023 includes big discounts for Klonoa, Digimon World, and more.
WTMG's Leo Faria: "If you love Digimon and want to play some great Digimon games, don’t worry: between Cyber Sleuth and Survive, you have more than enough content to satiate your needs on the Switch. Digimon World: Next Order is nowhere near as good, fun, engaging or memorable as these other titles. Sure, it might be a love letter to a PS1 classic (?), but there’s a reason as to why not a single other Digimon World besides that first game had Tamagotchi-based gameplay, it just wasn’t fun. Digimon World: Next Order isn’t fun either. A grindy, monotonous patience test, just ignore this one. Even if the fact you can make your monsters poop sounds too enticing to be ignored."
From GamesReviews:"With a franchise series like Digimon, there has always been a feverish fan base that loved the series and scoffed in the face of Pokémon. Well all these years later we know which series ended up on top. But despite all that Digimon games do still occasionally come out. Digimon World: Next Order is a port of a game that originated on Vita, then made its way to PS4 stateside and now reaches a new audience with a release on Steam and the Nintendo Switch. Now, I have never been a Digimon person myself, but I have always been aware of the popularity it did have as well as some of the Digimon themselves were familiar to me on site. So how does this game hold up on modern systems releasing only a few months after Pokémon Scarlet and Violet."
I love the game but i feel they die too fast the most you get is 20 days of Digimon life and sometimes if done right a couple of days more if lucky and i know it seems like a nice number of days but the days in the game go by fast and takes a lot of grinding with the training to get them to at least ultimate or mega Digi form to go through the tougher area's and battles so when further in the game you really have to train them to a high level and Digi form and cause how short the time you have with the Digimon before they die you spend most your time with them trying to get them to Digivolve and by the time you get them where you need them you have like only a few days left to get things done before they die and have to go back to training your new reborn Digimon.
this game is more of a chill lounging game cause it takes a lot of preparing your Digimon to move forward in the story to see any action.
The game is complex and technical which is intimidating to some gamers it just takes time to learn how everything works and a lot of gamer's don't have the patience for that. the game does sometimes has it's glitchy problems the game has froze on me a few times one being very bad as i did a lot and didnt save and cause it froze i lost a lot of the time i put in and had to redo everything so it's important to save here and there even if you feel you don't need to.
you can also manipulate the game with the saves as before a battle i grab everything i think i need to fight and save before the fight so if i lose the battle i can just close the application and go back on that save and get more of what i need to fight that battle again other than wasting more days and time and bit's (bit's are money in the game for perks) so you save on supplies from doing that.
Localise the Vita version & I'll get it.
