Fool Writes: "Am I the only one being hand-dipped in pessimism and deep-fried in panic? There's more at issue than just the square footage, of course. The closer you look, the more GameStop is starting to take on the form of Blockbuster."
Sony> The Air Sony Breathes> Blockbuster> Gamestop> Mircosoft>
Im happy you liked Breakfast i do try and please all
Awww that's so cute, I might just cry.
I might just rub one out
like going out of business like blockbuster is?
Yeah..lame article...I thought that's what the headline meant when I first read it.
a micro-management game based on Gamestop. I'm sure there would be a lot of depth with all those techniques they have to make big cash.
I don't want them to go out of business because they're useful when looking for older games and the original artwork on newer games when they get those ugly platinum/greatest hits boxes. I do wish they would get some serious competition though. Maybe then we wouldn't get raped as hard on trade-ins and used game prices.
if your from Canada then Futureshop nows buys/sells used games. Just started this month. They could be an alternative to EBGames/Gamestop. They give good prices too. I just traded NHL 08 and FIFA 08 in today and got 18 bucks for each of them.
But I'm kinda there with you. I shudder at the though of having to go to that f'ed up store, but sometimes if im looking for an older game I check there. Once in a while I do come across an intelligent person who works there. It's 50/50
my new store just opened. sweet its so big.
the only company to master the "thank u.....f*ck u" system.
I don't know, Microsoft is pretty good at it
@4.1 no ms is better at "Thank u" "F' U" "We're sorry, here's a 3 year warranty"
GS is not the devil or anything like that. Some of their stores actually hire those that KNOW a thing or two on their games (like one in my area is), and using one for your needs doesn't make you a traitor or anything like that. Their business ethics, though, leave some things to question. This whole thing about widening the store footprint is a VERY good idea, though. Alot of the stores seem to be more and more cramped into a corner store or something like that, so that could actually help them in that front. There is something I really am noticing too: The abundance of stories ABOUT GS on N4G! When did articles about Gamestop get so popular around here?
Some of the people i know who work at Gamestop have flat out told me "when i was hired, i knew nothing about games or anything, and they knew that in my interview when they asked me and i said 'no'". i was like, "what? why would they hire people who dont know a least a lil bit about companies / games / products? still doesnt make sense... but either does the electronics department at walmart. i used to work there, i would know. we had 3 ladies who were all over 75 and didnt know what the f*ck a DVD player was let alone an xbox 360, PS3 or even an ipod. i do agree though that if stores dont have the item there, people will stop going. as much as i like online shopping, i hate waiting and worrying if it'll be broke or scratched and then i have to send it back and wait some more.
