Xbox Going Big for E3 2017

Xbox NEEDs so badly to get new Ips its insane. I cannot believe the thinking at the top. They are almost as screwy as Nintendo, but backwards. They make modern machines with little first party support where Nintendo makes outdated gimmicks but has the 1st party titles

There's not as much money and dedication going into the Xbox brand because it's not their big money maker. For Sony. It's either make games, or cease to exist. So I could see why Sony are working harder. I do agree that Xbox/MS need more games though.

Besides scorpio and assuming some Scorpio Patched games, I want to see what they're bringing to the table. I was really interested in scalebound and hated it got cancelled so i need something new to get my excitement back up.

Sea of Thieves looks cool but has questionable longevity. Crackdown is the big one really supposed to release this year for me on the One but I want more so hope they have surprises.

As much as I've read a lot of drivel on this site, I am starting to agree. I'm enjoying my xbox less and less, whether it's because I've changed, because most of my friends have moved to PS, or minimal enjoyable and unique experiences... I dunno... Gaming just doesn't feel the same anymore. I haven't owned a Sony console since PS2... If Scorpio doesn't impress, and it hurts me to say this, I think I'm out of console gaming for the foreseeable future. 😳

This is what alot of my friends did, they abandoned the Xone because their friends got PS4s and they wanted to play together. You could just buy a PC/PS4 or even a Switch depending on how that one pans out for Nintendo (I'm waiting to see wether it turns out like the Wii or the WiiU).

It's normal. Some people move away from traditional online gaming to smaller games.
This is what gaming communities were meant to address. Unfortunately I don't play enough online or gaming in general to really be of benefit to you.

Lots of my friends stopped gaming and some others went to mainstream games while others to more linear games.

Very few people I know have a Ps4 not that it matters since those that have an Xbox or playing cod or madden or... Skyrim.

To be honest, this isnt the first time Microsoft have actively and intentionally hyped up their E3... Sony, Microsoft and other publisher are expected to go big and all of them will try to as is the case every year.

I would honestly hate to be in M$'s shoes at E3 this year. Sony has God of War, Spider-Man, and The Last of Us 2 to show off on the exclusive side; we know that for third party they have the next CoD, RDR2, and possibly Battlefront 2 in the bag, so we're probably going to see at least 2 of those at Sony's show. I can MS announcing some new things, but a lot of it is gonna fly over people's heads, besides Scorpio.

You don't pay much attention to market trends, do you? Marketing is literally everything. For one, Pro will be substantially cheaper than Scorpio (we're talking something that's easily gonna be $600 here), and two, most people who play those games are casuals; the majority simply pay attention to what console logo they see tacked on, and buy accordingly. It's what has happened to every single third party game over the last 4 gens. Also, not many people are going to have interest in an underpowered glorified PC that has no exclusives. Enjoy your Scorpio, and it's native 4K. Gamers will just enjoy games.

Sony pretty much nailed almost everything this gen, that's a stupidly high hurdle for anyone to jump now that this gen is well and truly under way. I hope the Switch does well, because I kinda want one. Microsoft really needs some big announcements and get the momentum going.

I think when the Scorpio drops MS will take Sony's approach and buy a bunch of exclusive content. And we all know the real reason all these articles are flooded every day, because multiplats are the sellers and the system that runs them the best will get will get most the attention.

I mean you look at sony a few months back with their awesome god of war reveal, I have never seen MS do that good ever at a conference I've seen a little asian girl badly act like she is playing with a tiger, but never an orchestra headed by the theme song writer of Walking dead reveal the coolest genre shifted sequel ever (I hate hack and slash GOW games, this new one was like skyrim with gravitas)
They really will drown if they don't reveal a new IP they only have like 5 active IPs and I got a feeling Nintendo will at least tease of a DK and a Metriod game and sony will be fine even if they don't show ANYTHING new with games like Spiderman, Detroit, UC4 expansion, Days Gone, and TLOU 2. They could rest on their laurels but we all know that isn't Sony's way, something new will be unvealed (most likely it is whatever Sucker Punch is making).
So to turn back from the tangent I went on, MS needs minimum to show 1 new IP that hasn't yet been announced, and they also should bring back an old one to diversify their system (blue dragon or whatever it is called to try to compete with Sony and Nintendo on the Jrpg arena) Also they really need to damage control the fact that every game they show off that is cool ends up cancelled.
It will be a tough show for them but even though I think they will fail at E3 I think they will succeed with the Scorpio launch and Holiday Season

Well....I doubt any company could top Sony's E3 of last year. Not just in the new game reveals, but overall presentation. It was about as perfect as could be, and solved everyone's major complaint about E3 conferences in general....that it was too much talk, and not enough games shown. Even the year before they got a lot of people excited, so even that year will be hard to top.

But it's not necessary to top it. Just show games, get their message across, and hopefully instill confidence and excitement in their product. That's what E3 conferences are for.

All there front rows will be MS employees that get coached to cheer at the right times
