Full PS4 Firmware v4.50 Changelog Revealed

The full changelog for the beta version of PS4 Firmware v4.50 has been leaked, revealing more details about the upcoming firmware update. The changelog reveals that a USB 3.0 HDD must be used to make use of the external HDD feature. Other changes include posting of animated GIFs, and changes to the Notification system.

I didn't see it on the list either. But I wouldn't worry because there has already been tons of articles from a few days ago about Sony confirming the PS4 Pro Boost to be 100% real and legit.

It is rather odd though.

I'm kinda worried that maybe they decided to postpone the release of this feature because it needs more QA. Not that is a bad thing of course.

I m only saying this since such an important feature should have been listed first on the change log and in bold!

Sony tends to only highlight important things in their notes, they always have gems hidden inside like Boost Mode I wouldn't worry too much about it being gone, it's still in the beta, they didn't patch it out of the beta so there's no worries.

I've a PS4 and a Pro, the extra details referring to boost only shows when you update the firmware on the Pro system.

They probably don't want people to think that Boost mode will be on standard PS4s and be accused of false advertising. (People are dumb).

Well they should simply specify that by saying something like "Addition of boost mode (for PS4 Pro only)".
If people can't understand basic English then that's on them.

It's still being tested and they likely don't want to advertise it if there ends up being a lot of issues and they end up pulling it. However, tests are showing nothing but positives from it.

I'm guessing they don't want to put it out as a new feature because of its potential side effects (from what the details on the setting say) and the fact that it'd be way easier to spin it in a negative way if every game didn't benefit. Just a guess.

Logging off if you have multiple accounts needs to be on the login screen. Also, when you want to leave a party chat that should be on the quick menu screen while in the party chat instead of having to go to the party chat screen that gets annoying.

It means you can now play 3D BluRay movies in 3D if you watch in the PSVR's cinematic mode.
