Nintendo and indie developers are still working on improving relations and the Wii U was a great step in the right direction. Sure, the Wii had Cave Story, but it took six years for Super Meat Boy to make it to a Nintendo console.
The Wii U definitely brought more indie games to Nintendo fans, but we are still missing out on such great games as Stardew Valley, Firewatch, and Hyper Light Drifter, and we never got our port of Gone Home. But the world of humans moved on, and NinjaBee's city-building/adventure game was last seen on the ill-fated Wii U in 2014.
