Stringer: PS3 Only Using 20-25% of its Power

PS3 games like Resistance: Fall of Man and the upcoming Motorstorm already look fantastic. Sony CEO Howard Stringer (right) argues that these games are barely using 25% of the system's "bandwidth." He also thinks Sony can break even on PS3 costs at the end of this year.

The Cell IS a great chip, so maybe it uses 25% of that, but I bet it uses 100% of it's GPU. The RSX just isn't that wonderful.

Isn't this the same dumbass who didn't even know when his own (remember he's the president of "all" of Sony) console was gonna launch in Europe?

ill wait for "clarification" from another Sony exec who will no doubt say something along the line of "he was only supposed to say 5% of the ps3`s power, not 25%".JK

I really don't think that Sony will break even with the PS3 by the end of the year and how does this guy know how much percentage the PS3 is really using. The PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii have so much more inside them then many people think. Just watch, by the end of this year you will see amazing games with great graphics, ie. Halo 3, GTA IV, Motorstorm etc etc.

I am just waiting to see how good the games will get on this system. You can pack a lot on a Blue-ray. I just hope the developers of the games utilize this space and the power this system is capable of. It is nice to know you have a Blue-Ray player when you buy this though. I could never afford a blue-ray player alone. And I am getting a good gaming system. Playing Madden on the Xbox is not the same as playing it on PS. The PS is way better control wise.

If thats the case, make Motorstorm 1080p @ 120 fps. Lol.

Blind Lemmings, Sony Loves you.
