The Consoles You Need to Own This Year, Ranked By Importance

Picking which console to buy in 2017 can be a tough choice.

No surprise at all that PS4 is the must own console this gen.

obviously this list is entirely subjective to the specific person. But I can agree with it if we were basing it solely on the fact that the person reading has not bought any of the current gen offerings (XB1, PS4).

I own a Pro, so obviously the Switch is at the top of my list this year.

My choice is all of them. That way you got all bases covered for any gaming occasion.

@Barricade - again, the title is completely subjective. Obviously this only matters for people who have none of them. Of course I am going to interpret it a completely different way, since I already own a PS4. I can't pretend like a PS4 is my "must buy" console of 2017.

obviously the list is different for everyone. I still agreed in my original statement that the PS4 was the way to go if you didn't already own any of the systems. Since I own a PS4 Pro, it's a Switch for me followed by possibly a Scorpio.

Anyway for me, the ps4 is rocking it this year with announced games so it will be my #1 gaming machine for the year! Gonna get the swtich for them Nintendo games :D

anyway if i didnt own any systems my purchasing order would be

PS4 Pro
Switch later in the year
X1 only, and i means only if they have an exclusive i want to play that's not halo, forza, gears. Also is different than the usual shooting and driving.

Will be rocking my Switch and Zelda come March 3rd but if you have none of these console and want the best "home" console PS4 is the way to go by a large margin. That isnt subjective, its just offering more, hardware is better, is cheaper, more quality games coming out, etc....

Since I already have the Pro, I think I will get the Nintendo Switch this year and then wait for PS5.

Already have the PS4 and XB1. Will probably get the Scorpio first, the PS4 Pro after that and the Switch last if I think it's still worth it. PSVR will probably be in 2018 if it still being fully supported.

The Xbox one is the best choice if you're tight with cash.

Nonthing will save you money like not having any games............

I have a PS4 but in November 2015 I discover that the top console is the modular super console often referred to as the P-erfect C-onsole or for short, "PC" . Grabbed a wireless xone controller and connected it to my TV and A/V receiver for surround sound and with my $20 wireless mouse and k/b, I have the greatest comfy couch experience I've every had in decades of gaming.
