Mega Man fans, get ready for a treat. Peter Sjöstrand has released a new beta version of his amazing freeware Mega Man game, Mega Man 2.5D.
This looks cool and all, but I really want to see a true next gen Megaman. 8 bit? I'm a fan of classics, but the past few Megaman games have been 8 bit throw backs. Here's hoping Mighty No. 9 is great.

Kind of sad when the only Mega Man games coming out are the fan ones. Why can't Capcom ever do stuff like this officially?
It really is sad. Back in the 90's Mega Man was almost as popular as Super Mario Bros. Nowadays they treat the franchise like some sort of step child that they've all but abandoned. It's even more sad for the simple fact a strong fanbase for it still exists like myself. look how many people were happy to see Mega man in Smash Bros? i just don't get how they gave Street Fighter a rebbot and not mega man. Seriously
Completely agree. After watching the final smash for megaman was so awesome. Including all generations of megaman (regardless of which megaman you like). Nintendo did good. Can't say the same for Capcom.
You know what more sad? A company that own Megaman, DmC, okami and many other lovable IPs is about to bankrupt, and they dont even try to do anything with them. Like seriously.
True. The only problem with those series is that there are multiple different story lines with each series. They can't stay focused on one good story line.

It's so frustrating to see this happening. Some major IP's in recent years have just been slaughtered because of exactly what you're saying.
Prince of Persia is one of the titles that comes to my mind.
To me it seems that at some point Capcom lost their way. At one point they were my favorite devs because many of the games like you mentioned are among my favorites and now it's like they dont even know they own those franchises. Maybe they had a change in leadership or something but they really need to get their shit together. I think it's time they start listening to their fans and pull their heads out their arse.
Whoever is in charge at Capcom really pulled one over on the rest of the company.
Now they have a person in charge who doesn't know what they are doing, and there isn't much they can do about it.
People like that bring in other people like them, and then you get a bunch of out of touch people at the top and nobody can fire them.
