ThisGenGaming says "Now, while there’s no denying that Switch pre-orders have been going rather well, it’s worth noting that even though the Wii U didn’t live up to its commercial expectations (it’s Nintendo’s least-sold home console ever), it did still manage to move a little more than 13 million units. That’s 13 million consoles that are already in the hands of a gaming public that’s ready to head back to Hyrule. 13 million consumers that, should they choose, can sit out and wait for the Switch to deliver before deciding to shell out $300+ for a new console, a decision that could be a tough one to make considering Nintendo’s feelings towards hardcore gamers."
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrades visuals, performance, and adds new tools like Zelda Notes.
If I was just staring BotW then yeah, I would get the upgrade but no way I'm going back to replay it, this goes for any Switch 1 games that I have and played already.
"
Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is undoubtedly the best way to play one of the greatest games of all time. The visual and performance enhancements remove any issues that you may have had to endure with the original game. It's practically flawless from that perspective.
Sadly, the Zelda Notes app really brings the whole thing down. Useful features that should have been implemented in-game have been relegated to your smartphone, and using it completely breaks immersion in this incredible world. I'm only thankful that it's not even remotely mandatory. Leave Zelda Notes to one side, and you've got the definitive presentation of a modern classic." - Ollie Reynolds | NintendoLife
NE: "We're looking at every single Nintendo franchise on Switch and evaluating how they grew and changed during the Switch's life cycle."
I rather play it on Switch, but I'll also grab a Wii U copy for collectability.
No. People are pre-ordering the Switch like crazy. The Wii U version is for people that can't afford the Switch or can't preorder it.
I don't think it dramatically would
Nope. Zelda Twilight Princess was a system seller for the Wii, despite being originally a GameCube game. I expect the same to happen with this new Zelda.
I'm getting both versions of the game.
