Let's hope they improve the campaign mode this time around.

On a side note, it's funny how people praised the first Splatoon for its originality but thought that footage of the sequel from the 2016 trailer was that of a port of the first game

-Foxtrot3067d ago

Can you blame people, it didn't look that much different.

Neonridr3067d ago

well in all fairness we didn't see really that much, and obviously the game isn't going to suddenly look completely different graphically. So naturally people's first reaction was a Switch port of Splatoon.

The 10th Rider3066d ago

Yeah, there were a couple brief seconds and most people figured out it was either a port with new content or a sequel. With such little gameplay it'd be the same for most games.

I didn't, I knew right away that was a sequel. It's pretty obvious. Single Player in the first wasn't that bad but hopefully they give a bit more of a story, it's pretty obvious that the single player wasn't the focus of the first (which is fine). I don't know how they are going to top the final boss though, that was great.

The 10th Rider3066d ago

That final boss was . . . Groovy.

what is the campaign in the first game? i haven't played it

EddieNX 3066d ago

Its basically a series of levels that get progressively more difficult with no story. Its OK but they should of given it more Story IMO.

gamer78043066d ago

@EddieNX Ah thanks so basically just challenges. I thought it might have had a cool single player story mode.

When it come to Splatoon I didn't even bother with the story. I went straight to the online everytime I load it up.

CocoaBrother3066d ago

I'd give the story a shot if you ever have time. The end boss battle is surprisingly difficult and the music is amazing.

JayPi33066d ago

The story was actually pretty good, and if you take the time to find the collectable items it fleshes out the lore and the world.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3066d ago

I know, it just that when comes to shooters if what I get in the single player doesn't unlock anything for the multiple or if any items or multiplayer obtained can't be used I ignore it unless I take a break from online then I probably go try the single player.

captainexplosion3066d ago

Splatoon had one of the most underrated campaigns I have ever played.

I didn't realise there was even a thought of a SP mode. This changes everything... I may actually consider buying this now.

'Splatoon 3’s' Inkopolis DLC Might Be Nostalgic, But It’s Totally Shallow

o matter what the reasoning is behind Splatoon 3’s lack of content and substance in the first half of its paid expansion, Wave 1: Inkopolis is certainly not worth any fan’s money and should have always been viewed as a small bonus to tide fans off from what’s still to come.
