Pro Controller is said to have HD Rumble. Worth the price IMO. Also it has IR sensors and motion control. Scans Amiibo for those who collect as well. It was just FCC approved yesterday, that's why you couldn't pre-order.
I only need the charging joypad thing, since Nintendo cheaped out on the one bundled with the system. I think the joypad controller setup will work just fine for me
The JoyCons have a battery life of 20 hours and you can just charge them at night on the dock, when you go to sleep. Why do you need the charging grip?
Long game sessions and I am often forgetful. It is required for me. Being faced with the moment where I have to quit playing a game because they cannot be charged is not worth it so I will spend $30
Switch really should have come with a Pro controller rather than a grip. The grip is going to a pain in the ass and it looks uncomfortable. And it doesn't even charge. Plus, if you want to play games like Arms you well also need to purchase another pair on joycons. Gets expensive.
Everyone always uses the excuse that it doesn't charge. True, but the joycon's get 20 hours on a single charge. Are you telling me you can't get them back on the dock within that time?
The joycons have a battery life of 20 hours and you can just charge them on the tablet when docked, while you sleep.
Also, Arms is playable with normal controls, not only motion. So, you can just get a Pro Controller for an extra controller, which is just $10 more than a PS4 / Xbox One controller.
All gone. 1 hour after this story was posted. What a sham.. oh well, I'll probably just use the joy con (detached, of course, with one controller in each hand). If it's uncomfortable, I might invest in one of these down the line :)
Liked the game pad that came with the Wii U. I bought the pro controller as well but I preferred playing on the tablet. It was much better than the wii controllers that's for sure. I'm not getting a pro controller (at least day one) for the switch so hopefully it will be comfortable in the grip.
Nintendo still didn't learn the lesson for making two controllers just like Wii U. They must include Pro controller with Switch console otherwise there won't be any big game deverlopers support. I can already tell Switch console willl be all about Mario,Zelda,Star Fox, Pokemon.
the system play the exact same, how would pro controller not added make the controller different........the joycons connect to the tablet have same buttons, with same features as the pro controller with hd rumble, nfc amiibo reader, motion controls, and etc...........so if all the buttons the same and joy cons and pro controller have same features built in with same buttons........I repeat how will it change developer support............if you confuse about the joy cons and pro controller go on IGN and they go in depth on the controllers
It's 20 hours I think but that's still a great life time. I feel like a lot of the extras though are just a waste and would have been better to not have them so they could be cheaper. I can't see too many games making the most of all the functionality but we'll see, I could be wrong!
The joy cons are 20, pro is 40. But yeah, they coulda put a 10 hour battery in and saved us some cash lol, but hey, complaining about huge battery life aint the right way to do complain lmao
Not complaining about the battery life (it's amazing lol). It's more the HD rumble and stuff that just seems like it wouldn't get utilised enough to warrant the price. But like I said I could be wrong and a plethora of games could utilise those extra features and make it all worth it.
This is exactly what I was waiting for. A normal freaking Nintendo controller. Haven't seen one of these since the gamecube. I love it. It looks similar to the xbox controller layout, which is very solid.
Now they just need to address my concerns with Nintendo Online. Put support for lobbies and voice chat in the console, not an iphone. I need to know this is confirmed before I would order one. As it is, I'm going to wait on pulling the trigger until I see how it works.
Screw you Nintendo.. People work for a living you know.. How are they going to make such a short supply of the damn thing? Oh well, its gone now so ill have to buy from gamestop when they get it
I will need this.
It's also gotten a price drop in at least one region.

Pre-ordered! I think I got 1 of the 7 units in the world.
