have you played forza? you must have had the damage set on cosmetic and not simulation or whatever the highest setting is (I don't recall at the moment). doing that in forza makes you lose wheels, damage your drive train, damage your gear box, and unless your engine is in the back of your car you will seriously damage it. this usually makes it so your car can then only travel at about 40 mph and if your wheel is missing, making a right or left turn is a hassle.

call it an arcade ripoff all you want, but forza is full of plenty of customization (not just paint jobs as Sony folks seem to think) and very good driving physics and damage models.

Have u even played Forza? I love raceing games and I loved the GT series, But im sorry forza blew GT4 away as far as graphics and realism goes, GT does not even have damage, forza damage system is alsome, And im sure forza 2 will blow GT5 away. without damage it takes away the realism.

Graphics are very important, but they do not make a realistic racing sim- physics and control do. Forza and Forza 2 offer the most realistic racing physics engine to date. It takes an amazing amount of computer power to calculate these physics in split seconds. A game operating on this level would not look or run any better on the PS3.

In order for Gran Turismo to hold the biggest car licenses in the video game world (note to fanboys: i know forza's is pretty big too but im not sure if its bigger the Gran T's) They have to exclude car damage. It would be awesome to bash your car to hell. but then again. maybe not. As far as tuning and engine modifications go. Nothin and i repeat nothing is on the level of Gran Turismo as a matter of fact its a little too real. So real it gets kinda boring. hmm well lets see wat happens with GT5 not to mention they just picked up ferrari...hmmm 599 GTB anyone?

I'm so sick and tired of Sony fangirls using that retarded excuse for their lame-ass GT series. Here's a few little factoids to completely destroy such a stupid theory:

1.) The NFS franchise has been destroying top-notch licensed cars from the beginning.

2.) The TOCA franchise has been destroying licensed cars in ALL 3 GAMES so far.....and NOBODY has done it with as much realism, to date.

3.) FORZA 2 will have over 300 licensed/official cars, ALL with realistic damage modeling. And no, Shadow Flare, that doesn't just mean a bumper falls off after a 150 mph impact.....YOU TOTAL YOUR F*CKING CAR, just like in REAL LIFE. GT: the perfect racing sim MY F*CKING A55!

but...Gran tourismo is the one game that sony has that makes me consider buying their POS. I bought a PS2 to play GT4 then sold it when i was done. I will most likely do the same with PS3. We need to remember that games are what its all about. I will not miss out on any great game regardless of console. As far as this video goes well if its old that one thing if its new then it doesnt even come close to PGR3

...this is an in-game video from several months back as the graphics do come across as being sub par for the Xbox 360. Anyone else notice the lack of a reflection and shadow on the car when it passes under that Goodyear tyre/billboard?

I am a big fan of the GT franchise but was a little disappointed with GT4 which seemed like a higer-res version of GT3. However, what annoys me is that people are so easily comparing GT-HD (5th generation GT) with Forza 2. Not quite apples with apples.

I just hope that both the latest GT and Forza are great. Final comment, wouldn't it be fantastic if Forza and GT players could race against each other on-line...

No, I'M not in denial, but YOU certainly are. For someone who claims to be a car "enthusiast", you certainly don't know jack about them, or realistic racing. All tweaks aside, you CAN NOT have a "realistic racing simulation" without wrecks...it's what makes the sport as exciting and popular as it is. The fact that at any moment, the slightest miscalculation, or mechanical failure, could lead to a deadly pile-up or chain reaction of mayhem, defines racing. If there were no risks, they could all go 250 mph constantly, with no worries (just like in any GT game). But, if that's what millions of ignorant fans who know NOTHING about cars really like, I suppose. That's fine...I'll take TOCA (which was on the PS2 as well, FYI) or Forza ANY DAY OF THE WEEK, over that lame bullsh1t.

And lol at 16...I'm over twice that. :D

Ok first off I am a fan of Microsoft and Forza. I wanted to make that clear so everyone that wants to call me a fanboy can. I have played gt. I think it looks great! (yes I'm being honest) I just don't like bumper cars. Yes the game has customizing for everything. The thing is, so does Forza. Have you ever played the game? Oh and there are engine swaps. I don't think gt has that (I could be wrong). people that say gt is a "racing sim" are incorrect. PD (poloyphony digital) doesn't even claim it to be a racing sim. They claim it as a "driving sim" get your facts straight. I am excited for Forza. I love the guy (casual gamer to be exact) he's amped that gt is getting Ferrari. Guess what, Forza had that last gen....oh and Porsche. It also got Lambo this gen. What about gthd it's so crisp and beautiful. True it is I whole-heartedly agree. Good thing there is only one car on screen. You may forget that 12 cars vs 1 car is pathetic right? Oh well, I know people are going to freak out when they read this. The truth is so scary to some people.

I got amped this pass weekend when I smoked an old guy in a SL55 AMG in my 2K4 Carerra Turbo. Thats me gettin amped. video games however. I guess thats the biggest difference between the two games.

Yeah that is the biggest difference. If you want to drive around the track, you can either get gt or Forza. If you want to race, get Forza! p.s. next time you say you own a car make sure they make it. There is no such thing as a 2004 CARRERA (trying to help you out on your spelling) turbo.

wow what a coincidence, me and my roommate last night like decided to put down gears for the first time since it came out and put in GT4, I have never played it cause I didn't like some of the others, lol so now I have been playing it all day, it's pretty fun, but wow you realize how bad GT4 looks when you see it now, it looks horrible on my LCD screen...No it doesn't particularly look bad, but it looks bad when you have been playing 360 games for over a year, but im actually interested in GT5 now and obviously Forza 2

Yes im a casual gamer as well, I like the xbox360 more then the ps3 right now so whatever, I like to mess with the inside of an engine as well. The cars perform exactly like their real life counterparts, and I mean exactly. Even GT:HD has you start off in cars that decelerate like a mofo when you make hard turns, others that accelerate like crap. It's always fun racing against guys that are used to games like Project Gotham and Forza. Forza got brought into it because apparently they were used to having their racing lines printed out for them onscreen. GT doesn't have it so they kinda got screwed since they had nothing to rely on during turns except intuition.

It's both a bad and a good thing that GT doesn't have it since people tend to use that feature as a crutch. I do hope that GT lets you choose level of simulation for damage modeling in GT5 though since F1 championship and Forza already let players do it.
