Tales of Berseria Review - DigitalCentralMedia

"Tales of Berseria is a decent game and it’s much better than Tales of Zestiria. That being said the graphics are still quite poor and the music was mediocre. It’s an improvement but it still could have been better"

This review reads like it was written by a middle schooler. All the awkward wording and redundancy. It made it incredibly difficult for me to focus

Aceman183063d ago (Edited 3062d ago )

Fan of the series so I'll be purchasing this game regardless of the reviews.

Edit
Nah i dont need to try the demo, i enjoy the series regardless of what others think or say. Plus ive no problems spending my money on it.

InMyOpinion3063d ago

I'd recommend trying the demo for it first. I loved the old Tales games but this was pretty mediocre judging by said demo.

luckytrouble3063d ago

I opted for a Collectors Edition just because. I didn't like Zestiria, but it was mostly things that I see as fixed based on what I've seen so far for Berseria. Worst case scenario is I sell the collectors edition as a whole and get most of my money back. Best case is I really enjoy the game and am happy with my purchase.

TheGamez1003063d ago

Didnt like zestiria and this one doesnt really interest me either. Tried the demo but just couldnt come to like it...havent really liked a tales of game since graces, xillia 2 was ok but the rest I didnt really like. Hopefully more reviews are more positive, will probably pick it up once its $20 or lower since I still like this series.

ShadowKnight3063d ago

Vesperia was the best one imo

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3063d ago

I say Symphonia was a better game but yeah Vesperia was amazing. It seem the better Tales games were not on PS first.

Graces was on Wii in JP before port. I think they need a producer change and get rid of that old engine.

ShadowKnight3063d ago (Edited 3063d ago )

Tales of Vesperia was on Xbox 360 and PS3 in Japan as well. I had the Japanese version.

"It seem the better Tales games were not on PS first. "

Well, the tales series sold best on PS, maybe if Nintendo fans supported third party games more, NB would have released the new entries there as well.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3063d ago (Edited 3063d ago )

@moegooner88
The best selling Tales game before Tales of Xillia came out and claimed the spot was Symphonia on GC.

XanderZane3063d ago

Probably not as good as Vesperia, but still seems to be worth playing. I might still check it out. Never even played Symphonia and I have 2 copies of the game on GameCube and PS3.

I expected this to be better than Zestiria (face, it was a terrible Tales Of game), but I do have high hopes for this game, I already pre-ordered it anyway.

I loved Zestiria so I'll be the judge. Can't wait to start playing it

Day 1 like the rest. Me and reviewers have seen eye to eye in years.

The Tales Of series are some of the best RPGs I've ever played, and the characters are a big reason for that. I don't think I played a single game in the series that I didn't enjoy. Rest in peace.

Snookies12452d ago (Edited 452d ago )

Damn, that sucks to hear... His designs were always wonderful.

H9452d ago

RIP, sheade some great designs, man it's one after the other this year

FinalFantasyFanatic451d ago

We're 3 months into the year and I feel like we're taking nothing but L's.

autobotdan452d ago

Wow she was the character designer for Tales of Destiny one of my favorites of all time =(

scorpio_2049452d ago

I love the Tales games. Phantasia will always be my favorite. Ironically I felt like as the series progressed the character design became too “anime cliche.”

My first thought was the safe rooms in the resident evil series. When you hear that enchanting music you know you’re safe.

Killer2020UK685d ago

I literally just came here to post this. That music in the Resi 1 safe rooms is playing in my head.

Rimeskeem684d ago

I was thinking TLOU work benches. Although I remember one time where it was a false security.

closed_account684d ago

Perfect. 👌👌

I'd add the top of my highrise apartment in GTA Online. That calm, quiet peace, just knowing as soon as I step out that door I will be bombarded by 8 and 12 year olds calling each other n**** and f****, trolled by combat jets and rocket launchers.

The entire map of SotC is peaceful as hell. Used to just ride around exploring it.

mastershredder684d ago (Edited 684d ago )

Afterlife in Cyberpunk 2077 is a peaceful area? Erm, hands down and very hard to miss, Misty Olszewski's Esoterica is the absolute epitome of peaceful areas in that game.

raiden_188684d ago

The "last of us" deer location i found to be a welcoming respite. It was nice to not have someone trying to eat me.

RPGer684d ago

Kingdom Hearts tend to present half peaceful areas and most of them are amazing.

Why Do Birds Fly? The Moral Philosophy of Tales of Berseria

This strange sentence is not an excerpt from a book on falconry. Nor is it a question from a biology exam or a promo for the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s from the 2016 Bandai Namco RPG Tales of Berseria.
.
The game’s primary antagonist, Artorius Collbrande, uses this question as a means of evaluating people’s moral principles. But how does a basic question about the biology of birds tell us anything about someone’s morality?
