Some damn fine games coming this year and this list doesn't cover them all! Hopefully we're lucky enough to see spiderman and days gone release this year!

joab7773026d ago

I do and don't hope they come out! I wanna play them but also need time, as there are obviously some great 3rd party games coming also. And unlike other yrs, this year is jammed packed from January on!

BlakHavoc3026d ago

If those got release dates for Q4 I'd have a heart attack lol. Sony's lineup is already so impressive and we're only in Q1, with more to be announced. I can see Days Gone and maybe Detroit getting holiday release dates at e3. Sony supposedly doesn't want to give release dates until they're sure they can hit it. Smart move.

Relientk773026d ago

I do not see Spider-Man coming out this year

There are so many great games coming out this year, Horizon is next month, and I really need a release date for Ni no Kuni 2

NukaCola3026d ago

I really am curious what the Fall game is going to be. I was hoping for DETROIT or Days GONE. Then Next year is GOW in the spring, Spiderman in the summer, and whatever one is not this years Fall hit next fall. We also have 2019 for TLOU2, Death Stranding and a bunch more. Hopefully. SuckerPunch hasn't revealed their game yet.

BlakHavoc3026d ago

I like your predictions cause they're spot on with how I think these games will be released. I hate seeing ppl give TLOU2 a 2018 release date or sometimes even a 2017 date, it's not happening. I think we get Detroit, Ni No Kuni II, and GT sport this year. I want Days Gone but I think it gets pushed to early 2018 along with GoW. Spidey in Oct, along with SP new game that fall. TLOU2 early 2019, Death Stranding mid 2019, and Horizon II early 2020. I know some of these games haven't even been announced but I think it makes sense. SP has been developing their new IP for 3 years now, fall 2018 would put it at a little over 4 years, plenty of time. And Horizon releases this year, giving it a 3 year dev cycle if it releases early 2020, just before PS5 comes out in the fall.

hashemiteking3026d ago

I agree with you on everything except GOW. I still think GOW will be Sony's flagship title this fall. They have been working on that game for a very long time now so I wouldn't be surprised if it releases this year. I see Days Gone or Detroit releasing next year instead.

BlakHavoc3026d ago (Edited 3026d ago )

Ya me neither, no spidey till 2018 along with GoW if i had to guess. I think Ni No Kuni, GT Sport, Days Gone, and Detroit all get release dates aiming for the second half of 2017. Ni No Kuni in September, GT in Oct, DG in Nov, and Detroit in December.

@Nuka
Ya I forgot about it getting pulled but that might just mean Sony didn't want to reveal the release date that way. I highly doubt PSE made just a random mistake, they probably knew the release date but didn't realize they weren't allowed to put it in the sizzle reel yet. I still think Detroit comes sometime this year with GTS. I would absolutely love to have Days Gone as well though.

NukaCola3026d ago

Damn it! I keep forgetting Ni no Kuni 2! I do hope that is a release this year, but may be a Feb 2018 game. Feels like one.

Yeah Detroit was pulled from the 2017 PS4 Trailer so hopefully, E3 is like "Boom.. here is another character trailer and it releases this October!" because that is very exciting and feels like a return to Heavy Rain's greatness. Sony has a lot of IPs that they can put out 3-4 big ones a year for the next 3 years and drop PS5 in 2021 as 2+0+2+1 = 5. Science you know.

joab7773026d ago

It's insane but 4 of the best are coming very soon! Nioh, Horizon, Nier and Persona 5. Nioh demo was killer! Can't wait! It is a solid and polished game which offers brutal but fair difficulty. The combat is deep and rewarding. Tons of loot and customization that allows for different builds etc. Hopefully they support it as we break it!

BlakHavoc3026d ago (Edited 3026d ago )

Loved the demo, I'm on board. Was challenging but never felt impossible except for when I fought the sub mission boss, dude was making short work of me lol. Probably cause I was fighting him at level 9 though. Still can't wait for this game, it's likely going to be something I'll be playing for majority of the year, I don't anticipate that I'll beat it in two weeks before it gets replaced by the likes of Horizon, NieR, ME:A, and P5.

Gyarados3026d ago

2017 is the year of PS4 and switch. Best wishes Ninty and Sony.

GamerGT3026d ago

Man all of these games are awesome. And we'll definitely be getting most of them when I have the money but Days Gone really woke me up. Never seen that gameplay trailer until today. I would probably get pretty addicted to finding traps to squish, burn, crush or puncture a crap load of zombies. While hopefully finding a nice bike to ride off into the sunset with.

Days Gone PS5 Is a 'Really Good Piece of Work', Say Tech Experts

Sammy writes: "Back when Days Gone Remastered was announced, many fans were squinting to see the differences between the excellent original PS4 version and its PS5 re-release.

But now with the game readily available – and our 8/10 review declaring it the “definitive version of a fan favourite” – we’re beginning to get some meaningful tech analysis.

And according to Digital Foundry, this is not just the bare-bones resolution upscale some had anticipated – “a lot of effort has gone into it”, according to the tech experts. "

First game sell well enough to warrant a sequel? Our received well enough?

Alos886d ago

It sold well but reviewed only okay, which apparently wasn't enough for Sony.

Cacabunga6d ago

Sold well and received even better.. had a bad first month due to technical issues but ended up being one of the best games from last gen

Knightofelemia6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

That's the nature of the beast. If a game like a movie does not meet certain numbers then they write off the franchise. EA scrapped DS2 because the DS1 remake did not meet certain numbers. I was hoping the remaster of DG and the fact it also came to PC would convince Sony to green light a DG sequel.

PanicMechanic6d ago

Critic reviews were appalling. The worst reviewed game I’ve ever seen. By that I mean, poor quality journalism, dishonest writing and review scores which are out of touch with fan reception.

Huge difference i must admit, but not sure i would notice without 2 screens next to each other.

Not getting this game still, i want a new game and im tired of remasters

Muigi11d ago (Edited 11d ago )

It’s $10 and there are plenty of games out there for you.

Flewid63811d ago

Then its not a huge difference?

Killer2020UK10d ago

Of course you wouldn't, nobody would. If you have never experienced the other, then you don't have the reference needed for comparison.

TheEroica10d ago

Sony getting ready to milk some more people on dumb products.... I can see the psvr1 and 2 owner salivating over days gone remaster. Lol. What a ruse song is pulling.

Knushwood Butt10d ago

How can Sony milk customers if it's such a 'dumb product'? If it's so dumb, nobody will buy it, and there's no milking.
Plus, there's nothing preventing people from getting a copy of the PS4 version.

Babadook710d ago

As a PSVR2 owner. Yup. If there’s a VR version I would be there day one.

Greg280110d ago

There are plenty of people who never had a chance to play this game, now they can with the remaster.

Don't understand why people who already played the game complain about a remaster. No one is forcing you to buy it. There are plenty of new games to play

marioJP8710d ago

Huge difference where? Besides blue color filter and darker lighting?

Remastered.....

Tedakin11d ago

Sony is now remastering games with 71s on metacritic.

Bathyj11d ago

Like that's a judge of anything
This game got scored before it was released.

andy8511d ago

Days gone is 85+. It got heavily marked down at launch for bugs where as others get a free pass for that. It's a fantastic game.

Kosic10d ago

And it's not even a big overhaul remaster. It's list turning up the graphic level by one. It's quite embarrassing, as the original wasn't that bad. And the remaster isn't that noticeable

PanicMechanic10d ago

“And it's not even..”

Bugs bunny NO meme

TheEroica10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

Poorly remastering if images are to be believed.

Tapani10d ago

To me it was very close to The Last of Us Part I. It was that good quality.

PanicMechanic10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

Shut up. Best open world zombie game on the market

I spoiled myself by modding this game on my PC. Genuinely one of the best looking games I've ever seen. Whilst this remaster looks nice it just doesn't compare to that sadly. It shows the effort that these remasters could put in if they wanted

REDGUM11d ago

I so hope this game or DLC for those of us who own the original sells well.
Ive said it before, its an underrated game for sure & was unfairly judged upon release.
Please try this game if you haven't already.

For those who say 'i won't purchase digital only' you can pickup a hard copy for 5 bucks here in Australia, then add the DLC and you have a superb game for $20 or so.

Give it a shot, tell me I'm wrong After completing the game.

Game on gamers.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH11d ago

It was full of bugs at release I wouldn’t call that being unfairly judged. If you want your game to score well then release it in a completed state. Now with that being said I think the game was pretty good.

Knushwood Butt11d ago

It really wasn't.
The worst I encountered was a horde spawning on top of me when exploring a cave.
Did you even play this at launch?

S2Killinit10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

It wasnt full of buggs, it was very playable. That was the excuse for the hit job at launch before people started to speak up about how great the game was.
