The Video Game Industry Had a Very Good 2016

Some of you may consider 2016 to be largely disappointing, but for the video game industry, it was an excellent year. A new report from the Entertainment Software Association and the NPD Group shows that revenue on computer and video games was up in 2016 over the year prior. The increase was small, but still worth celebrating in an industry that’s growing as large as video games.

Yes, 2016 was a good year for gaming, 2017's off to a good start and has the potential to be incredible as well. Gaming has never been as good as it is today, I'm so excited for what the future holds for my favorite hobby!

It was a great year indeed. The industry keeps making more money each year, while progressively releasing worse and worse broken, and fragmented games, with fist f**ked extra costs on top of them. Great gaming year for sure.

sadly that increase in revenue seemed to come at the cost of quality as 2016 IMO was one of the single worst non console launch years i can remember with buggy, broken and albeit unfinished and unfulfilling games i have ever experienced ... all this microtransaction and dlc bait must really be too much of an intrigue for most to resist i guess :/
